Hi,

I'm after an electric pump.
I read the Slingshot is the best pump but I can't find it anywhere.
Is the Bravo BST12 pump equal to the Slingshot since these pumps are for sale everywhere and my local dealer sells them too.
Thanks.

Pumps are in stock your local dealer should have them, or be able to get them for you..

It has taken me 6 weeks to get hold of one, worth the wait. Kiteaction in Caloundra have some in stock, you might even get one at the old price $300 if you phone quick.

why would you spend $300 on an electric pump when you could do it in 2 minutes with a normal 1 for free

Where are they in stock? Not at my dealer (who is a Naish dealer).

Hi Ewan, when I was as young as you I would have pumped up the kite with muscle power too.
These days I couldn't care less about money (nice isn't it?!) and rather kill a beer before jumping on the board (while the electric pump is doing the hard work).
Work hard and I'm sure one day you will afford things you need (or not) too.
Cheers

you could also get a colman portable high volume pump. pumps my 12m up in 2 mins then all you do is give it 20-30 pumps manualy. and they are only 60 bucks!
save your back and your money.

I've got offered a Slingshot pump today @ $399.00!
I thought they were cheaper?
What brand do you have?

Thank you for your suggestions of compressor and K-Mart pump. I don't need a big compressor and don't want to carry the handpump either when I have the electric pump. Again thank you.

Here too, these are the latest and best version of the Bravo pump. Some websites are still advertising the old price.
We have sold a lot of these pumps and have had no issue with them.
My own pump has pumped at least 100+ kites and only recently I had to replace the internal battery, which I got from Jaycar electronics for approx $25.
On a fresh battery fully charged, the latest Bravo will pump approx 4-6 12M kites, on one charge!!! And at up to 10.5PSI!

Hi there Ceasar, If you are still looking I have the same Bravo kite pump available at a very competetive price. As far as I know there is only one type of pump with these specifications that is made for pumping kites and it has been rebranded by Naish (and possibly Slingshot). The manufacturer does two types for kites and the Bravo Super Turbo kite pump is the best and the only one to have.
They come with a protective inner waterproof cover, outer cover and car charger. Optional (and recommended) extra ($20) is the 240v Wall charger so you can charge overnight and be ready to go, as often you may not drive around enough to fully charge the battery.

I use the pump for lessons and easily pump 4 to 5 kites per session.

For personal use I place my Airush Vapor 2 (one pump) in the normal pumping position, grab a coles bag and fill it with sand and place inside the leading edge, then insert the pump set on 7 psi and push the on button. In the 90 seconds (10m kite) it takes for the kite to pump I have run out my lines and returned to the kite. Then I flip the kite into the secure position, heap sand on top, connect the lines and move the kite into self launch position, walk to the bar, connect up and launch.

Once you have used one of these pumps you will wonder what you were doing with your old handpump that has half died 2 months into the season. I expect electric pumps to be standard issue in the future especially with newer battery technology.

The Bravo Pump is very durable and has a slot that can be removed to clean out any dust or sand that gets past the filter. If you use the protective plastic cover also it has a second filter in it. So sand just can't get in.

heres a suggestion for those on a budget, after pumping up two kites every time i go kiting with my other half, i bought a 12 volt $20.00 air bed pump it inflates it about 80 % and three - six manual pumps to harden it up ready to go.
you buy them at ranger camping use it to plug into your cig lighter or have one of those battery packs if car is not next to where you need to be.

works well if you go for a couple kites day in summer

One tip for your pump: Keep the battery fully charged when possible. After use charge it, before use charge it. If you don't use it for ages, charge it every month or so. This will ensure the longest possible life for the battery. Correctly maintained an electric pump battery should get around 500 cycles. Mind you pumping up a kite is a great work out. Hey Ewan have you pumped up the kite you won lately?
