If it turns faster and has better top end, but the low end is worse. What does that mean?
Kite size is smaller.
Ozone admit that the number on the side of the kite isnt the actual sq meter size. They quite commonly upsize or downsize kites in their range year on year to make it "turn faster" or "have more bottom end" or whatever the latest market trend is!.....
That's just not true Plummet.
Where are getting these "facts" from?
The Edge V9 does not have a worse bottom end. it has better range because it can be turned tighter and worked easier through the lulls and it has a better top end because the bridle and canopy design and profile have been fine-tuned through the new software and Rob Whittalls experience. This is evident if you actually fly one the canopy luffs perfectly right across the span of the kite, spilling power smoothly and a short pull in on the bar powers it up again.
Kite sizing by all brands is a bit of mystery, has been since kiting began, and there have certainly been some brands that have exploited the number on the side by upsizing but keeping the number the same. Ozone went the other way back when the Reo's were first released as everyone remembers.
Now and since then they have aimed to keep their sizing consistent with the industry "measurements".
Ozone has switched to a Version system for their kites, nothing changes except colour in the second year. Kites are identified by the V number.
Over and out.
