First time out on a crispy new 19m edge today at point walter... 4 hours on the water (12:30-16:30), legs are finished :] honestly love this kite!!! Highly recommend trying one.
Andy, what wind range and board did you have for the session? What do you think a realistic minimum & maximum wind would be for the Edge 19? I am tempted.
Wind was a bit of everything, i did drop the kite once yesterday during an extended lull. easier than expected to relaunch.
I was using a custom crossing board with large 30cm fins , but as far as planning area is on par or less than my 132 TT.
A decent size TT or sector, you'd be flying on sub 10 easily.
The guys on 19m and raceboard could head out on much less wind again. Yesterday the other 19m that was out, from what i could see was as fast or faster than the 17s & 13s that were also out once the wind filled in a bit.
The top end... unreal!!! I'm 94kg, was riding a smallish board with a couple large fins, only depowered around 50% once for a few minutes.
Results may be alot different if on TT i suspect, the massive power of this kite is unreal, could be hard to hold an edge in the mid teans!
Yesterday checking the readings averages between 11-14, with peak gusts around the 20s.
First 2 days of winter, kited till i couldnt stand up on the board anymore, legs are still stiff today from the weekend... and im sporting a very unexpected sunnie tan! All thanks to the 19 edge :)
