Who's got one or who's getting one?! Ordering one as we speak. Sick and tired of sitting on the beach in sub 10 knots.
Anyone already have one can they comment on it?!

Hey Gibo n Robbo

Ive had the
2011 Epic Infinity Light Wind kite since they first got released and bought it from the Epic online store in U.S...
Im a big fan of Dimitris because his kites do exactly what he says they can do and backs up his gear with a 100% warranty - which I claimed on a 9m Screamer damaged in transit...another story with a happy customer service ending

My first priority in a LW kite is relaunch... and it does very easily due to the 3 strut shape. Ive had it out and kited in
as low as 8knots when you can barely feel any wind on your face, doing downwinders on a 140x40 early planning twin tip. A wider board wouldve been better..
As far as holding ground - it was pretty good in very light winds
'If tuned correctly'. In very light winds your best results will come from using your stopper to fly on - as the you can imagine the slightest change in profile creates a lot of turbulence and when theres Jack wind your ground holding speed will suffer. The kite likes to sit back a little in the window which is great for down the line on my surfboard,
The 2012 model I understand flys further forward and personally I prefer that instead.. but cant afford to another one for a while.
The Infinity flys very very smoothly and bar pressure is nice and light, though a little deceiving for the power it can create so easily. Ive tried it on 20m & 27m lines - the 20s are great in gusty winds and makes some freestyle tricks super smooth and good in high jumps with downloop turn landings..
The 27s are best for the lightest wind and would recomend a 55 - 60cm bar for better turns on the long lines obviously.
The first day I got it funnily enough, i got to test both bottom end and top end as a weather front built up slowly from nothing throughout the day. I came in when it was about 25 knots which started to get scary... yes I had definitely run out of depower and could hardly hold the edge down at full power with kite at water level. Jumping however was quite good about 15m... but forgot I was on slow 27m lines

when I pulled a Loop at the top, in slow motion the kite looped and was pulling me down towards the water only just catching me enough to soften the beating i took

and realise that big kites werent meant to Loop

my painful mistake

But spent the rest of the day Megalooping my heart out on the epic 9m Screamer

Normally at the 15 knot mark i change kites... but if it is gusting to a ridiculously low range say 6 - 18 knots. I'll stay on the Infinity having a ball while others are goin home or swapping kites and teabaggin it..
In Perth ive had people refuse to launch my Infinity kite because they thought i must be insane to go out

Always great to see the look on their faces when I kite jump on the beach then blast away on my twin tip

An important skill to learn when the theres barely enough wind to keep any kite in the air and starts to roll - is to downloop it so you can power it back up again..
all Light wind kites take a bit of finely tuned technique to get the lowest wind range possible

If anyone is keen to have a go (in Perth) just send me a message... its a fun big kite to fly
