Have ridden the 8m EH Ripper bow kite last week which would have to be damn close to being the quickest inflatable kite available in the world. Aspect is up over 5 to 1.

It is so quick that you can get going in fairly light winds even on an 8m when everyone else is on 12m, so I expect the larger sizes would be the same but even gruntier.
Iam 85kg, going in about 13 knots and going on an 8m but working it until you get enough apparent wind. Not many kites will do that. Turns on a dime and powers back up immediately. SENSATIONAL!!

Boost is STRONG and immediate and very predictable

Had a go in St Kilda the other day.

Feels like a C kite in a lot of ways as it has a similar setup but with longer depower. I would probably even say it is i bit more of a hybrid than a strict bow.
None of the heavt bar pressure of the other bows.

Probably not ideal for waveriders and not for beginners but great new kite well worth a look or a test run for someone looking for that bit of extra performance or someone looking for a top of the range kite without the pricetag of a few of the othhers as they are being introduced to Australia at fairly competitive prices to try and get a toe into the market.

www.cabareteairforce.com can give you info and video

the 8m ripper is certainly a buzz to fly....great lift and float for a small kite....

the 10m ripper is also an impressive machine...

Rippers are high aspect SLE kites....not marketed towards learners due to high performance.....

EH has a medium aspect kite called the Beast that is targeting learner to advanced....much more gentle and easy to fly than the name suggests....lots of bottom end and large depower range.......

here is a pic of jumping with the 8m ripper during some windy weather...unfortunately no kite in the pic though....

Come on Natter spill the beans. Got me as to what brand is on the market cheaper as there is only GK and Liquid Force with a cheaper bow kite on the market and if price is purely your thing I'd say go for it.

From what I have been led to believe the price of the others is due to the cheaper brands not being a licensed product like Cabrinha, EH etc who pay copyright royalties to the Inflatable kite and Bow kite patent holders. There is a lot info about that matter and likely forthcoming law suits on Kiteforum which makes interesting reading if you can be bothered. You'll see a little hologram on the kites of the guys who pay Copyright fees.

My impression after flying one of these was that EH have got the most bang for your buck by a long way. There is nothing quite like the EH Ripper on the market yet from ANY other brand. If speed is your thing and being able to go down a size or two in kite due to the apparent wind it creates as a result of its high aspect.

I'm not sure and please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anyone else has a kite even close to 5:1 aspect of the Ripper.
A lot of the bow guys don't actually give out the aspect ratio of their kites and it has a big influence on how it works.

You should be able to find the info on EH's web site. Go to OEM's part of the site.

OK. You got me confused! I had a look but.....

There's no Bow in the OEM stuff. EH did a school kite for Starkites but their bow does not even look close in appearance or aspect ratio to the Ripper. I Dunno maybe I'm wrong as I've not even seen 1 of these on my beach yet to compare and haven't seen one in any of the shops here either.
Same goes with Liquid force as that kite is a C as well and so is the Best Yarga in the OEM section.
In the words of Pauline ' PLEASH EXSPLAIN " or am I missing something here.

Don't worry I figured it out...
I can see that Offdalip have rebadged these kites but you would be hard pushed to describe them as cheap.
Get a 12m Bow and a bar and lines set and by the time you convert $1300us to Aus and then ship and then get stung with 10% GST and possibly 5% import tax as happened with my mates Best Yarga its not going to give 1 cent change out of $2000.

"Caution" is a name that has been linked with EH.

Soonee is doing some real agressive pimping here. Maybe it is time for him to come clean

Sorry but this post has been pulled.

Now it certainly got a bite though. Didn't it F2K[}:)]

Now, we aren't really in the business of selling CHEAP kites but if you saw the offer and want the deal let me know.

Otherwise it proves that even if I'd put bow kites up for $600 I'm sure F2k would have posted that someone or other who was offering something or other for $500.

FYI: EH kites roll out of the same factory as a few other kites which you will struggle to call cheap. One starts with C but isn't Caution and the other starts with N but isn't Naish. If you think there is a problem with the quality of build I suggest you might be wrong.

That is blatant. And not even trying.

Plus in real terms that's not under a G more like $1800.

Also when RAL INN in offering 11m Impacts like mine for $1049 total.
and that is a better kite. Then you need to compete somehow.

So what happened to last years kite of the moment, the GK sonic.

I suggest if you are going to go to this extreme abuse of the forum eticate you may as well bend the truth.

But being in FNQ I'm sure you can find a F-one retailer closer to home that can match that price??

But your kind of right Freed. Caution was once made in the EH factory as was LF a few years ago. Also a couple of other brands that I cant remember. Caution now have thier own factory in Sri Lanka I believe and LF are making thiers somewhere else. Hence the build quality issues LF had for a couple of years (eg- M80)

I agree Soonee should come clean and let us know he is aligned with a certain distributer/retailer...........

FNQ for sure. or at least for a week or two when the boss lets me.

Family is in Altona though, met Tony L there.

I assume that the pimpers on this thread are melbourne based so RAL INN came to mind as a way to keep perspective.

I would rekon that anyone who wants to come on and hype up a kite would have no problem in detailling their affiliations if they were keen about cred.

These kites suck with the endless problems of claiming warranty issues. One big pimping station from start to finish.

Nice work Yippeee.
Another gutless wonder.
Show yourself as there have been no warranty issues with Kite Republic to date.

look...for anyone who wants to be serious here....the kites are great performers as anyone who has either used them or seen them in action would i'm sure agree....

if you are lucky enough to get the chance, try them for yourself and make up your own mind....

again i'm sure that yippee is something you'll be yelling when you try them....the Rippers are performance high aspect SLE kites...and the Beasts are gentler medium aspect SLE kites with more bottom end grunt and great top end....

biased....well, yes i suppose.....their performance convinced me to sell all my c-kites...viva the bow revolution and thanks heaps to Bruno...

Agreed. I have seen, many times..., what the Ripper 8, 10 and 14 can do when in capable hands, unlike my own....Have seen the Beast 10 in action as well. Looks like a great kite for the rest of us weekend punters.... Both models look rock solid in the air. The Ripper is VERY flat, almost rectangular. Quality wise, well, I'm no seamstress. They look and feel no different from my Norths and over the last few months, of very extensive use, I have yet to hear anything mentioned about equipment failure.

And no Nic that wasn't me . But I did see them down St. Kilda today and they seemed to fly just as good as any other bow. How they perform I don't know as haven't tried one yet. HINT HINT
