After a couple of accidental unhook minor kitemares with the old bar, I bought a reedin dreamstick x today. All I can say is what an awesome bit of kit. Comes with 22m lines with 2m extensions. I took the extensions off straight away. The bar is nice and thin for an easy grip but the centre of the bar is a bit blocky so there's room for improvement but it's still very comfortable and there was no friction burn between my fingers, so I'm happy with that. Maybe using shorter lines than I'm used to is to blame but the kite felt more responsive and easier to control with this bar. But the thing I love most about it, which is probably old news for most people by now, is they've engineered out the twist in the centre lines, no more needing to backroll or loop an equal number of times on the port and starboard tack, no need to even pull down like the auto untwist bars. It's just completely engineered out. Brilliant! I hear other brands have also done it but it's the first time I've encountered it. I give it four and three quarter stars.

Throw means something else so assuming you mean this measurement, there's about 450mm.

Throw is probably one one the longest in the game. I've had that bar for 2 years, however the way it's wearing you'd think I bought it recently.

One thing I found strange was the line stretch. The fronts stretch but the backs are virtually un-stretchable. Old day turning where you grab the bar and give one rear a yank doesn't work, no matter how hard you pull. They do leave a long tail on the rears which is enclosed in the bar for adjustment but I think I've used it all atm. The fronts stretch a lot. What they also do is leave a long tail on the rear pigtail at the kite so you can tie extra knots there if need be..

I have to tune mine today, it makes a noticeable difference.

That's because your lines have shrunk, not stretched.

All lines are pre-stretched by machine at the factory to prevent stretching.

As explained and demonstrated with proof at the start of our video tutorial, your back lines shrink more than the front lines, due the front lines being under much heavier load.



if you measured your lines from new until now, you wouldn've noticed they have shrunk. Especially the back lines

WOW that's interesting. I knew bridles shrink, learnt that from the Slingshot Rev days but didn't know the backs shorten. Thanks for the post and video.
