Hey! After a new cab board, not for bindings this time for some freestyle fun, can anyone tell me the difference in board feeling and behavior between the 136 and 140 turns faster more less pop? Understand I'll get going easier in less wind but want something fun. 75 kg dude.

75kg the 136 will do.

But here's another way of looking at it. It somewhat depends on your length.
If you want to ride the widest stance option (55cm), the 140 might be the better choice, because then you actually have some tips left to get pop from.

In my opinion 50cm stance would be ideal for a 140ish board, but that is when riding bindings.

Youll hold a better edge on the 136 for your weight and it will be quicker to turn, for your size i would of looked at more a 130-132 size board if you want a quicker fun board.

Yea dude if you want freestyle fun - grab a Caliber or an Underground Styx. The Custom rides quite slow and is built for bindings.

I'm 78kg and ride the 2010 136 custom with straps, or should I say "sync backless bindings."

I love this board. It's the right size for me so long as I'm powered, and I have no problem with speed. In serious wind and chop I'm generally faster than most folk.

This board is a lot of fun for the sort of free-riding I do and the extra rocker and curvy outline make landings very forgiving and fast carving turns are a hoot, better than any other board I've ridden (I mean just watch Dre slash his customs around, even in chop).

It does require a deft touch to get it upwind though. You'll also want a kite with some park-and-ride grunt that can pull from forward in the window.

I'm 190cm and the middle stance is plenty wide enough for me. The widest stance on the 136 would be too close to the tips, and ridiculously wide for anyone less than 2m tall

All this said, I have an underground stella 144x46 for the marginal days because yes, the custom is power-hungry and struggles to hold ground in lighter air.

If you can afford a two board quiver, go the 136 custom and a light wind twintip. If you're after a one board solution then 135 styx or flx or 133 caliber will be better.
