Although the FX is fairly new there has already been demo days for it. Has anyone tried both and have thoughts about them? Based on the description they are shooting for the same riders.

just get what your local sells, that way you always have support if need be.

I have been fortunate enough to be using an FX 10m for a few months now, and my very first initial thought, first time out literally within the first minute was "this feels exactly to when i used my mates Dice"
Similar shape, similar bar pressure (not light), grunty as through the loops, the old days C kite feel etc

The FX has really light bar pressure... What settings do you fly it on?

good point! I use the short bar without click extension bits, and have it set on the back setting on the steering lines (more direct feel/less depower etc etc)

ColTech thanks for your comment! Do you have any impression about its low end? How does that compare to the Dice? I am also wondering if the second edition of Dice (2015) is more refined than the first edition of FX.

wasn't a fan of the low end, but that's comparing it to RPM's.

I have 2014 Parks and had 2013 Switch Blades, almost ordered these FX without a demo, I was really disappointed so glad I didn't buy them.

I'm a hooked in freestyler and foil boarder. To me they felt nothing like switchblade they had no bottom end they felt like the chaos. I rode it back to back with the 2014 Park that I setup on the beach both 12m in 15 to 20knts the FX felt like at least 1m under sized.

I came back in and checked and changed the settings but it helped only helped with the slow turning but really a step back off the Parks.
I loved the chunky bar, pressure was light compared to a "switch blade" and super smooth, tried the depower it gets stuck but easy to put up with.
Tried looping it wow it had some pull :)
Tried boosting it but it wouldn't go felt underpowered so I would say not the best. I had five hours on it but new I didn't like it in the ten minutes half an hour but tried to keep a open mind about it. I ended up coming back in for my Parks for a hour before heading home.

I think the Pivot will be my kite of choice this season but will try the Best TS next would like to try a F-one Bandit but don't know where I can demo one in Sydney.

And that is exactly the reason this is not the kite for you

I have 12m chrono for the foil but the parks also are fine to use for cruising with a foil. The FX is marketed as a all rounder but my experience says there not. They would suit more wake style unhooking as they felt more like a chaos which I hated. They also drop you heavy landings a switchblade doesn't.
They didn't suit me the Park is a all rounder, just trying to find something to replace them I was hoping it was going to be the FX

2015 Switchblade is much better than the 2013 model.
Better bottom end, and more linear power delivery. Maybe you should try and demo one of them.

^^ ditto for 2014

I demoed an FX and took it out in bay waves on a surfboard and it has heaps of grunt and does quick downloops. good fun.

Ran into Daniel from kite addiction today down bogan alley. Looks a nice, simple effective design. no wind to try it though

the rise of the all rounder....fun, easy to use kites that have progressive potential. Who said kites are not getting better....
