Have you ever used something for the first time and immediately KNOWN that it's the best you've ever tried?

We got that feeling when we slipped the Core Fusion twintip onto our feet last week. The 137x41cm board is nothing short of amazing, and one that every kiter should try, at least for a few minutes. Try it for any longer than a few minutes and you'll be throwing money and credit cards at us. It's that good!

It was actually one of our customers who asked us to order him a Core twintip this year, until now we never bothered because there were no reviews and nobody had ever seen one. But after reading the write-ups, looking at the construction and accessories and having a chat to the guys from Core. We ordered a couple to try them out. Thank god we did! Otherwise we'd be missing out!!

Anyway, I'll stop raving now. Here's a few reasons why they're so good.

Construction: Cartan Carbon Fiber forms the basis of this board. While it's not the lightest on the market, it sure feel nice in your hands. The really tight weave of the fiber looks great and provided a stiff, but smooth feel for the board. There's also a matte finish over the board, which means that scratches don't show up as much.

Accessories: The footstraps are great, but only for size 9 feet and bigger. I can't tighten them quite enough to really lock my feet in, but for Jon it was fine. That aside, the pads are gorgeous under-foot and the fins track beautifully with very little cavitation.

Ride: The stiffness and bottom shape of the Core Fusions are the perfect blend for both choppy and flat water. The base has a subtle V bottom which really makes the board feel crisp and stable in the water, while the flex allows the board to conform to big walls of chop and cushion your knees a little. It's not like the usual carbon boards on offer, this ones not super stiff!!!

Tracking: It's a really grippy board, and it's good upwind. Not quite as good as say the Crazyfly Raptor Pro, but very good none-the-less. The grip offered by the fins is very nice to have on landings, and we also didn't notice any spray in your face.

Value: Now we won't beat around the bush. This is a premium board. It's $1199 with pads and straps and fins. BUT. Stay with us here. It's worth it!!!! Especially when you compare the price to what else is on the market. Take the Cabrinha X-Caliber Signature. It's $1439 this year! We think the Core Fusion is fantastic value for money, and we're willing to bet you'll think the same once you ride it.

I wrote them an email asking if they thought about adding some colours to future kite releases as a sales point and give consumers a choice.

This was their reply,

"well, we use this color scheme because we like it ;-) Maybe we add other colors to our products one day. Maybe we don't. Most important things are performance, safety and quality."

Cool review, we've ordered a bunch of these and were hoping the board was as good as the hype. This reassures me somewhat, good stuff.

what wind and conditions did you ride it in rhys , if its been blowing a 25knts for a few days with no swell and is silky smooth on the water to ride us westerners will want a ride, contour of the board and rocker is also very important for our conditions here, post some pics cheers

Got my core fusion few weeks ago have had it out a few times and agree totally with wat Rhys said the board is awesome. Bought myself some wake boots to go along with it but haven't tyred them out on water cause the pads and starps feel so good oh and the board looks really good to
