Hey Guys.
I'm about to get a set of boots and need to know a good board to put them on. Unfortunatly, where i am, there are only 2 retailers who are very biased towards there products- Fair enough. I tried the '06 Nobile 666 but found it to spray water at my face. Im 73kgs and ride mostly wakestyle and need a board to handle small chop well which has a good amount of pop. Please give me your experienced thoughts.

I recommend the Liquid Force Element or the Mission but best you try as many different brands as you can get hold of, then you'll find one that you feel most comfy with. Not sure where you are, but if in Brissy, we have both for demos.

I just put a set of boots on my 07 Thorn and it works pretty well. You may have to drill the plates depending on which bindings you get but it handles chop very well and has a load of pop (check any review of the 07 thorn). Also got some anti spray thingy on the front of the board, and to top it off, also comes out of the nobile factory so construction is top notch

Yeah a couple of my mates ride boots on LF elements and they seem to go fine. I ride an element with straps (i have tried it with boots but i dont like them) and it goes well through chop and has good pop. THe one bad thing about of this board is that it needs to be ridden with plenty of power making it not really a lightwind sort of board, but if u r doing wakestyle u want to be powered anyway. Just try as many boards as you can.

cheers,
jake

Agreed, especially when you are on a small one mate The Element comes in 128/132/140 which will get you going a lot quicker! Out of all LF range, the element is our most popular wakestyle riders choice.

The new slingshot wake boards have hit australia, wake boards built like snow boards, revolutionary nnew wake technology.
Honest the flex and pop is amazing are one of the lightest wake boards on the market.
The boots are really good as well closed toe very supportive and durable, if riding in chop may prefer a little more rocker look at the 138 recoil, cam barker from tanuum rides the 142 response and really helped in the development of this board. check out the alliance online wake mag for a review,or slingshot wake site.
Good luck and have fun

boots = bad knees
straps = bad ankles

make your board heavy and are generally a cult following-to each his own

I got unions on 07 134 element, good board, handles the chop, eats landings. Rides comfortably toeside too. Had bindings on 3 boards now, this has been the pick of them.

Hey charl dv
I have the same problem with straps. I was using mountian bike tubing (which i could imagine would be more comfortable than garden hose) But i recently bought a pair of the Mystic Heel straps and they rock.
As for bindings- Well thanks for everybodies input. I tried a few but they weren't for me. Each to there own i suppose. I'll stick to the heel huggies.

Later skater.

The real question is, what is worse, having ****ed up ankles, or having ****ed up knees...

You need both to walk? ****up up ankle you can deal with crutches, a blown out knee can put you in a wheel chair!

M8 if u want boots go for LF as they have been making wakeboard equipment for a long time and they know what they are doing in that department. If you don’t find any kite boots check out you local wakeboarding store and try some wakeboarding boots and if you then don’t like the feel of boots, just forget it

I used to ride the 130 Wake from Cardboards, sold it and tryed heaps of other boards since then but I am going back to them they are awesome.

For bindings go LF unions or escalades, they have easily the best boots on the market, heaps of experience.

bindings can root your knees up because your ankles are locked in. Look at 8/10 pro wakeboarders have knee braces because of bad injuries but i smashed my ankle 2 bits in straps and i'll only ride bindings, even on my glide. i guess the secret is don't **** up

u know why they smash their knees in wake boarding?? because there gettin pulled at like 20 kilometres or more an hour, with the rope at eye level.whereas kiting ur lucky to do a trick at half that speed with ur kite at like the lunchtime or wherever?. dont mean be a coc.kjag but think about it.

great for padding your landing but when you stack it and one foot comes out your fooked

straps take out your ankles because when the board skids off away from you your remaining ankle gets twisted around

a good boot will give your ankles support and add weight to your board. when you really get contortionist up there the extra weight acts on your knees (bindings = bigger board = more weight)

you cant ditch the board either so your forced to get your knees into a vulnerable situation.

yeah medic i used the hose and put a foam padding around it so it was ultra comfy but i think it prolly contributed 2 breaking my drive as my feet coudnt come outa my pads when eating **** going low unhooked and looping :P lots of force on the board, im just gona stick with straps. boots sound cool though minus the big board thing

To anyone against boots. boots = the way of the future, anyone who rides hard rides boots. straps = a thing of the past soon to be phased out and only good for board offs.

Boot riders are whimps. Boots = Weak as p**s[}:)]
Straps = Hard of nails

So wake up and smell the coffee Brolly, go have a mug of HTFU, get rid of the boots and put straps back on your board
