looking to move to a more wave specific kite, tossing up between a cabrinha drifter and eleveight WS (formerly best i think). Currently have a 10m blade trigger which i like as an all-rounder but recent got an oldish 7m drifter and i have loved the few sessions I've had on it. I often struggled a bit with being pulled off the wave when turning the kite - understand this is partly due to poor technique but on the drifter i just felt like it turned on a dime with minimal power unless i wanted it.
So i have been looking for a 9 or 10m drifter, but also saw a few eleveight WS and the people using them keep claiming they are the best wave kite in the market so am looking for a comparison. I am in adelaide so mostly riding cross-on seabreeze wind swell up to 2-3ft. I figure both kites will do well when it is really good and cross or cross off and clean, so probably more interested for the day to day conditions.

Eleveight is hard to get here and just for that reason I'd avoid that one. Older drifters are around and you might get lucky? I do have an Ozone Reo V6 9m I need to sell, its my own kite from last season kite only $1250

thanks will have a read up on them - how do they stack up against the other wave kites?

Also it seems like North/duotone neos are also the "gold standard" for waves according to most people. But they seem more all-rounder shaped and also claim to boost well etc? Am always sceptical of kites that claim to do everything well.

The Reo is an awesome wave kite, and it is specifically designed for riding waves, not freestyle or getting big air. Maybe I'm a bit biased but I think its the best wave kite on the market?

Been using a 2023 Drifter 10m now and I like it a lot, quite fast, amazing drift, nice lift for strapless freestyle too. Cannot compare with Eleveight but also cannot immagine anything better than 2023 Drifter.

@peppedurso how do you find the 2023 drifter? I think is a bit more grunty and turns maybe a bit quicker like a neo maybe, drift seems to be the same or better. Been using 18/19/20/21 drifters all good hard to fault and pretty much the same only more recent ones have more grunt.

only to clarify, Eleveight kites are not so hard to get in AU. We have some dedicated resellers around AU which are holding stock. We also have a warehouse in Sydney which holds stock of most current models and spare parts, so recording is a matter of days. Particular WS V7 is available in all sizes.
Regarding the WS V7 it is a kite specifically developed for the wave segment with focus on drift, a fast pivot turn and high quality construction.

Been riding almost every Drifter since 2012. The earlier models were way more grunty. I've noticed quite a change in stability from 2020 on with the new nano ripstop. 2023 model I believe it is another step ahead, lighter (100g more that a Neo sls same size), very fast but always in control, better lift and hang time. Front bridles are closer to wingtip than previous models. I am using a 7m 2023 with 24m lines and 47cm bar, loving it! bar pressure on the 7m is just right for my taste. I am also using a 10m 2023 (with bar on 55cm setting), great kite, quite fast for being a 10m (faster than Neo sls 2022 - borrowed it for 3 months) amazing drift, great lift (don't find much differences with Neo), the only aspect I would love to adjust it's the bar pressure, I would lower it a tiny bit - back line attached on lower bar pressure position already.
I was wondering if a small change on the front bridles would help me in easing bar pressure, any hints?
