Don't take it seriously Lee. You have to admit it was a funny comment though and you do want people to be emotionally involved with your brand so share some ideas for the new website and let the haters choose some ideas. This is the perfect forum to help your brand. Just get the haters involved. Show them kite colour designs and web site protos. See if they hate or like it before you choose.

Thanks for the tip. I will consider it although as people here are anonymous it's hard to know what agendas are at play with what anyone says. I definitely value considered and constructive feedback and the others...well, I am sure they get back from life exactly what they give out.

I've been using Buzz equipment for the last nine months and really enjoy it.
The Kites are extremely well built and show no signs of wear and tear after constant use (repeated self launch / land and the occasional stack).
Kites pivot really well and are great fun for freeride / waves
Re-launch is excellent.
Bar and lines are really light, tidy and simple.
Quick release is very simple and durable.
Boards are superb.

Hey Saffer, I had a good read of the post you put up a page or so ago ( written in the airport ?) - thanks for the marketing 101 lesson as it made a lot of sense to me!
I have a Griffin Argo 13.5 now in mothballs but it was a pretty good kite - I had wondered where Griffin (Chris) had gone.

So if Buzz kites are the rebirthed Griffins they could be fun to fly but the Griffin bars were terrible and withouth the PU main line it wasnt fun. I fly Bandits now and still look at the bashing Bandits get because that they go for the double front line depower - the Griffins flagged to one front line ?? Is there a perfect kite? The 13.5 Griffin had a front tube size that was huge - very un-aerodynamic and a good warm up !! Interestingly Sailboard masts went from standard diameter to skinny - and the skinny's were stronger apparently ? might be different with inflatable leading edges?

I agree with all comments above - kite gear is getting very expensive - Financial inflation $$ has been low and to plot annual inflation with kite gear price would be an interesting graph !!

As a 'Family ' kiter that is trying to raise a family and get a bit of time on the water the challenges are many when it come to buying gear !!
Resale is important unless I want to flog a dead horse,
Reliability is vital - I cant afford to hit the beach and my gear fails (brownie points are so hard to earn!!)
Performance should have come first I guess?? and
Support when I need to fix things is formost in my mind !!

Im kind of pissed off with my current brand that turns a $550 bar (with a healthy mark up) into a gold plated item when buying the individual parts - but it seems to tick all of the above boxes.

Id like to fly a Buzz kite to see how it goes compared to my current 'go to kite' - but Im not about to buy one without trying

Hey Lambie. Give Lee or Justin a shout as Lee suggests. The gear is well built and has lasted extremely well. I know lee has been working hard in the background to address all the advice / comments on here such as Pricing, Website etc etc. I think the new price list is out already give him a shout and see what sort of deal he is willing to do.

I have to +1 this, as I've spoken with Lee over the phone, and he seems a very genuine guy. He's put a lot, like EVERYTHING on the line for this venture, and without mommy/daddy money too! Well done mate and I wish you all the best.

Hi Guys,
I was testing this Sunday the harmony Kite 7m with Buzz Bar (In Sandringham) and what I can just say, it is a beautifully smooth kite that I think sits well in the freeride and wave spectrum.

For me, as a beginner, I can compare only with just a few kites...ride experience of this kite in blustery conditions made it one of my favorite.

Fella I know tested a run from Umina to Pearl beach on his Buzz gear and it was a real long walk back with kite and board after Buzz line broke.

Doesn't really mean anything but **** happens and seems Buzz is subject to failure like all other gear. But I think he would of appreciated Lee being close enough to give him ride back.

Had to bite my tongue on this a few times, but the 1-post wonders extolling the virtues of said kite do not inspire me. And as if there is not enough pimping of other brands already.

Obviously a form of network/ word of mouth marketing may work, but a one-poster post (at least 2 in this thread) carries no cred.

I have seen a guy at my local with buzz kite, buzz harness, buzz impact vest, buzz twintip, buzz everything . Ordinary kiter and not much cred with the other locals so not sure how much penetration he is going to get (esp since most of us have mortgages and kids and often buying S/H kites), but never know might get a beginner latch on.

But good luck, being an Aussie and "having a go" taking on the big brands. What you are doing as Humphrey Appleby would say is "Courageous".

As you know, kite lines on all kite are all very similar in that they can get cut by shells, glass rocks etc. The guy you are talking about kites almost every day. He actually bought the first Buzz kite I sold. So it's had a year's use...probably 600 hours of kiting. The good news is that we have a full selection of spare parts for Buzz gear and we sell them at very good prices. :)
