I need some advice on what booties to get. I live in Brisbane and bought a pair from a dive shop - thought they were great (nice and lightweight, without losing too much board feel) until I came off my board and find that the water had ripped them off my feet. In the process of looking for one I came across an unfriendly rock bank (because I wasn't looking where I was going - doh!!!). Needless to say I lost one and have thrown the other one away in disgust. Anyway, back to the point - can someone recommend some good lightweight booties that hang on to yr feet. Not worried about price too much after what the rocks did to my hand, arm and foot. Thx

Heya again Mal

Sorry to hear about your injuries

Glad to know you were straight back out there though :D I have Neil Pryde booties. I've had them since day dot, and they've even been through my learning stages on the infamous Wello rocks and look like gold, and nothing has worn or torn anywhere.

They don't have the separate toe (which is great imo), and (if you know, similar to ballet shoes that have the split bottom sole) have a solid rubber bottom, which goes to a slightly more fine sole where the arch of your foot is which is still strong enough to protect you against rocks, and won't wear any faster than the solid sole, but allows your foot more freedom and lets you 'feel' the board better

Along the top they have wetsuit material along where the tips of your toes are which gives you added protection if you are dragged or get your toes nipped on a rock etc.

The whole boot comes up to where an anklet would go, and has a velcro elasticised pull tab to tighten them a bit, and then at the top, a draw string type mechanism.

Mine are Neil Pryde size 10.5 WNP05 3583
