I currently ride Spleene SPX 7 & 10.5m2 kites (and then 4.5m2 Cult for nuking days). I weigh 80kg and only ride strapless when surfing. Unfortunately it's onshore winds for me 90% of the time, but when onshore, I try to ride unhooked as much as possible so unhooked capabilities of the kite are important to me.

I am otherwise quite happy with the SPXs but their low end is not that great and the sweet spot for 7m2 is narrow so I hope the 6, 8 and 10m2 Noise or Reo would tick all the right boxes and then some. SPX are incredibly stable, you can't make an error big enough to get them fall out when lines go slack. I really love them for that, but also that they are really quick turning.

I have read all the info here on Reo and Noise, but could someone compare the two a bit please? I am not able to demo the kites unfortunately. Noise has 5 struts against Reo's 3 struts - are there weight issues at all, normally the lighter the kite, the better it is for surfing. Any feedback really appreciated for the sizes of 6 to 10m kites.

There are only two riders i know of that have ridden both kites. One wont say, and I can't say for obvious reasons.

The Reo's have only been out 1 week and it has been crap onshore mushy conditions. There are a few guys who have the kites ready to go at the sniff of a breeze, so no doubt there will be plenty of reviews forthcoming once we get some reasonable winds to do demo's and thorough testing.

There is a lot of expectation from the REO and no doubt there are legions of crew ready to cut them down if they don't stack up to my initial review. I still stand confident.

Just be patient, or better still, grab one of each for a demo and make your own mind up, then write your own review, many await this review.

I Rode the 8m for around an hour at Brighton last weekend, there was also two guys testing Noises.
One thing I did notice is because it was gusty the noise appeared to be affected more by dropping back and shooting forward whereas the Reo still did this to some degree but no where near as much. Maybe due to the weight of the kite ( it's rediculously light).

How did you like the kite then Nick? For me it sounds counterlogical that the heavier kite shoots more forward and backwards than the lighter kite, but I believe you saying what they did.

Is there much in low end difference between the two kites as I have read that Noise has really good low end compared to other kites?

i'm one of the few that has ridden both, without wanting to upset anyone, take DM'S advice and demo both, just remember when comparing, the noise actually flys bigger than its number on the wing tip. Enjoy, Tony.

The Reo doesn't drop back as much and just sat stable, the noise dropped deeper then moved forward. (may have been a tuning issue aswell).

I liked the Reo as it was very predictable which gave me confidence under it. It was smoother than my fuses when sending from side to side which tend to pull you round if your timings not right. Without being pulled around so much by my kite I was able to position myself better on the waves which meant a better session. I am only new to Kiting waves but had my best session yet under this kite.

Haven't ridden the noises to comment on hoew they ride though.

i tested the 8 - 10 Noise last weekend up in perth, i have come off riding GTs so there is some adjustment for me. The conditions were average to say the least but some good waves were about, for me i found the Noise really light and smooth ,nice bar pressure and could always feel where the kite was ,on the wave the kite just seemed to be there with you even against the grain , down the line was the same . i was really surprised to look up at any time no matter what dumb **** i was up to, to find the kite just following me around. i dont know what the wind was blowing exactly but i was on the 8 first and i can tell you right now with the currents and rips and me weighing 90kg i would not have got going on my GT10.5 . Noise 8m -10m feel exactly the same to me ,same power delivery, same quick turning good **** i reckon , cant wait to tuck in to some solid wind.....can someone order up some wind for us down here please !!
