Has anyone tested BWS latest boards technology? I think it came out in 2017 and it looks pretty good: real surfboard feel but stronger than your normal PU board. The Stallion and Drifter look nice... DHD signature too for those days down south or bigger days...

I haven't seem many BWS boards in Perth so I'm wondering if anyone has tested them and can provide independent feedback??

These were made in the Appletree factory in Holland (now in Portugal). I'm a big fan of the stallion board, it was the best board I ever had, but it only lasted a few weeks. Construction isn't strong enough imo.

Nice kiteing and Vid Just watching I new straight away that you were going to crease the board you need to practice on your landings too flat I am envolved making similar board in Melbourne But even my Boards May not take that much punishment We do put 6ply stringer /carbon&6oz clear /Epoxy for this reason Keep up sick kiteing

This exactly.

In strapless freestyle the board needs to be able to take the beating; sometimes you land against the wave's back etc. and sometimes you just land badly even on flat water. Look at the GKA guys :) And many are riding regular boards. I had the stallion and sold it because it was too fragile for me.

The guy in the video rides ok to me, not on a board breaking style.

As Adam said, it's the the delamination that caused my fall. Too much drag.

I agree with OMG, a regular board should be able to resist these landings. It's nothing compared to some of of the landings I've seen by the pros. I've been riding the Firewire Vanguard and Vader for years without a problem. Same with the HB Lafayette and a few others. Never had a problem. That Stallion only had 4-6 sessions in wind above 18 knots, and a few more with wind averaging 15kn (no jumps).

I'm testing the Toxic by Aeroboards at the moment. Ultra-light (2.5kg for a 5'3) , somewhat similar shape, but complete different construction (PVC foam, carbon fiber).

I have spoken to a few shop owner who all say the same thing about directional board warranties. If your jumping the board then you have no warranty. I have just got a sunova boss. Hope this lasts a bit longer than my last.

Do not think that the GKA guys do not break boards One went with 3 boards and came back with none and had to use other team riders to get through to end of event Also if you watch these guys they are landing down wind at 100 Ks hr Very interesting re above with Vader and north So far I am only getting dent in front pad on my MK3 Smook Shredder We have experimented with lot of different constructions And this model looking good Could make it rocket proof but would cost to much

But yet they constantly put photos and videos of their pro riders doing huge jumps on the (supposedly) same board.... I'd say if you advertise your board can do this, then you have to assume that the buyer will try to do the same.

Just take the matter with ACCC and see what the dodgy shop owner say. What the shop guy say is one thing, what the law says is often another one.
You are paying over $1k for a board and you should expect this board to last more than 10 sessions. As Effisk mentioned, HB lafayette, FW vader and the likes can take the beating so why not the North one?

Everybody should realize. you have no warranty on a directional kite board. As for shop owners, don't stock boards if the company wont honour the warranty. This is why I have bought a sunova boss.

What year, 18 or 19? I have beaten 5'2 Whip Pro 2018and just a slight dent under both front heels. I have the pad in front.
I have HB Anti 5'4 and DSP Afterbang, both really strong boards. DSP very flexy as well.

really nice riding! You should try a Sunova Darth, light and strong boards!

No, discount on another board, no warranty whatsoever. I sent the serial # to the manufacturer who told me there was no fault in the making, so basically you can expect any other stallion to break like mine did.

Yep .I got the same offer. Discount on another north wam. I wouldn't pay 200 bucks on one of those boards again. The outcome would be the same. Like I said before , the whole warranty thing is a pile of sh&t.

I've gone on to a heavier blank in a Aussie custom board. I believe the larger companies baffle people with technology, but after seeing people riding these boards they seem to often have inferior shapes and made too weak.

Often , if they are light then they are like a egg shell. Super light cheap EPS foam and a hard shell around it. It'll often look great until it takes that one hit that just smashes it enough to weaken it in a big way.

You guys are right in saying they can't legally reject a Warranty if they have photos of their pros doing jumps 10x as high as you do on your board.
