Hi,

I was hoping to hear some non-industry related reviews of the Airush generator - a wave-riders perspective.

Does it live up to it's un-hype?

I am keen to try it & see if it's the kite to take my unhooked riding forward, but they have taken so long to become available - no-one has had much to say about them.

i had the priveledge of riding the 7.5 on sunday and i thaught it was insane! threw some Flippin intence kiteloops and it had no trouble getin back above u after the loop wher alota other kites stall half way.. i was even able to throw doubles and i rekn i can easily riggle a 3rd in if it was a tiny bit windier! even unhooked freestyle in that wind was very managable and i was getin some pretty mint pop. Matt had it out in the surf prior to that and he was saying it was absolutely GOLDEN! he said you could just put it exactly where you want it when you want it and he was able to put 2 - 4 full turns on some sloppy back beach break and destroy a few lips!

we played with the settings, moved the front pig tails back from the front tip to drop it back in the window a bit more and decrease bar pressure, but on the very front or middle i think it might be even nicer in the surf as its right at the edge of the window!

oh yeah and after landing some unhooked tricks id cruise around unhooked one handed just throwing big carves down through teh flats and the ktie was very stable, just sat there waiting for you to tell it what to do and didnt do anything you didnt want it to so i can see unhookd surf on this would be epic! lots of power in the turns and very very smooth delivery you barely feel it until u stop working the kite then you see how much power you wer really generating.

i have no affiliations with airush and to be honest i dont like their kites with the slight exception of the vapor which was ok.. but this kite.. WOW i loved it ay, it really is no hype and no bull ****.. just a machine of a kite.

For unhooked wave riding it is awsome. Works like autopilot; think the kite somewhere and it is there. Came from fuels and have tried a lot of the newer offerings (eg Rev, Revolver etc) and nothing feels as good for down the line wave riding. I ride the 5.5m and 7.5m quiver with a 6'2" SST and find the combo magic. A simple no nonsense reliable setup that delivers genuine performance.

Thanks guys, I watched a 9.5 flying the other day, didn't get to try, but it looked good & the guy riding it was rating it highly. I will post a review when I finally get my hands on one.
I know availability of generators has been an issue, but surely there are more guys flying these kites now?
