Hi Factor 5,
Just turn the chickenloop assembly over so the trigger is on the right, it makes the trigger the right way up and the trim cleat upside down.
Trim is usually set when you first launch and usually is not altered whilst flying. If you need to operate it whilst riding, it is easiest and safest to drop the kite in the water or land it on the beach. The trimmer is not very easy to use when flying as the stopper system, whilst the kite is powered, is very difficult to operate due to resistance of friction from the sliding stopper system, especially if the stopper is up against the pulley.
It can still be adjusted but takes two hands: Pull the stopper down away from the pulley, then grab the depower line which runs to the chicken loop cleat above the chickenloop and draw it back perpendicular to the run of the line like you would a bow and arrow, then take up the slack you just pulled with the other hand on the rope coming out of the cleat. Whilst you hold the line coming from the cleat, use your original hand to press the rope deeper into the cleat jaws otherwise it is likely to slip and you'll be back where you started.
You can retrofit the "above the bar" trim system to the bar which is a better option but will take a bit of fiddling and a wise assistant. I will help you if you bring the bar in to me, or the guys at Airborne would be pleased to help you out I'm sure.
I'm sure the guys at the design end of things are working on a better system for the future.
Hope this helps,
