i had a go of a mates in the surf and absolutley hated it. it really didnt handle the chop and rough waves. i found it to sort of dig into the waves. [}:)]

but they do look pretty good.

hi
Were you riding the z or x sereies ?
I ride both and i do a fair bit in the surf some deicent waves . Havent found it digs in but ill admit i tend to keep my front foot up .So it depends on what you were
riding before. But as i say one board dosnt fit everyone one bloke will love one board another will hate it.

i have the z series 08 and its excellent in chop. i ride dolls point in sydney and the chop there at times is considerable . have`nt had it in the surf yet but it`s more of a freeride free style board anyway so i would use one of my other boards with more rocker.
if you get a chance to ride one have a go it feels solid under foot.

oh u meant chop surfingboyo.. yeah my board catches too, thats y i just ride on the back foot more and raise the front a little, its a nicer position to build pop on aswell so its good both ways really. as for aboards i cant actually say how they ride but i assume they will be similar, cant wait to try it

I got a new Z series Aboard yesterday and havn't had a chance to ride it yet due to the wind.... but may get out thisarvo...
First look the board is well constructed with pads, handle, and fins all going in nicely all look to be high quality. Foot pads are comfy and give a similar support feel to the Nobile or underground Flx pads. The 3d construction looks awesome and the silver LOGO bling i didn't notice too much in the pics.... but man it's bling!!!

got out on the river yesterday..board is good, foot straps great, it is a fair bit of a faster board than the Shin Pro. Although at the same time it is a little more skatey and stiffer. Nice pop and control, good upwind and very stable at high speeds. Would recommend it to anyone who wants good construction with top finish, fast, good upwind for freestyle. and not having ridden it in the surf yet I would still have to agree with the above comments that you could freestyle ride it on a wave using the kite, but the board isn't a surf board or a carvey directional... so ppl are better off getting a surf board for surf and a freestlye board for that ( no change to how it's been for years really )

Not very nice surfboyo

I agree with George, not everyone likes the same things, and it depends how you ride a board aswell. One thing is for sure, Aboards are bullet proof, made to perfection..
best way to find out if it suits your style be to find a retailer and see if you can try before you buy..

and..have fun!

I have a z series Aboard, 136x41, I weigh 95kg and have a 12m cult. I think the Aboard suck arse in the chop and flat water until you rip the stupid fins off then it become one of the smoothest, best planning boards you can get. Rode mine in short knee to thigh high chop in around 25knots and it was great. I have also rode it in small surf 1-2ft and it was also great. Ditch the fins, the boards got heaps of concave, a good rail and rocker they just f@#k up a good board.

not sure how taking them out worked, I just preferred it. Made the board a lot looser and more forgiving, a bit harder to hold upwind, so what. Then again I never ride with fins in so it might just be a biased appraisal.
