designed to be slow...alright for a learner but i would never recomend the new version of it the DNA because you should progress out of it in two minutes + its over priced

What? I dont know anyone in perth apart from a few top freestylers that would be held back by a DNA. The DNA is cheap at $1549 for a 9m. If that is expensive for a new kite then you should do some shopping around.

The DNA is one of the better sle kites from unhooked. I rate it over the rev and waroo!

Hi Supersam,

We taught with the Airush Pilots for two seasons until they were replaced with the Airush DNA in 07.

The Pilots were OK for their day. They flew fine but could be a little hard to relaunch when they were on their backs leading edge upwind partly due to the short throw on the centre line and the narrow wingtips.

There was an issue we had with most of them in that they would tear from leading edge to trailng edge just adjacent to the wingtip strut. The repair was cheap usually (less than $60), but the pain in the bum of having to get it repaired was a commercial bugger.

If I were you I'd look for a later model kite like the DNA, as Carbine says, they are a good kite and although every noobie thinks they will outgrow the kite in 6 months, they're wrong. I still occassionally ride the DNA on my surfboards in the waves and reckon they are unbeatable and for unhooking they are solid!

I have a couple of 08's (9 and 12) that I am looking to discount to sell if you are keen. PM me if so.

Good winds,

I like and fly Airush, but don't waste your money on kites that old. The huge progression of kites in the last few years makes them dinosaurs and you will progress much better on a later model.

If you like Airush look for an 07 Flow (or the DNA), these are good kites and you should be able to pick one up second hand for a reasonable price these days.

If you are indifferent to brands then most 07 and later SLE models will do you as well. Do a search on this forum to get a feel for what is around, but go a later model.
