After reading numerous reviews on here, I'm getting contrasting opinions, so, can anyone tell me the true wind range to this Kite?
90 kg , surf board ..
I had the 7m 2015 and it was my go too at 20+ mph
It's to complement my 9m neo..
Thinking a 6 could be too big a gap?

I've got the 2016 6m (I think the 2017 was essentially unchanged). I kited with a 9m Neo (2015) and the 6m for a couple of seasons. I never really found a time when it was not windy enough for the 6m but too windy for the 9m. I am only 75kg but ride a quite small surfboard (19L) so probably a reasonable comparison. This season i went with a 5m and a 7m, on the really cranking days the 6m was a bit overpowered (which are usually my favourite big surf days) and then the gap between the 5 and the 9 was a bit too big. But i do spend a bit of time alternating between the 5m and 7m and choosing the 'wrong' kite - the nice thing about the 6m/9m combo is you always know what to ride: its windy =6m / its not windy=9m.

If you're perth-based you're welcome to take the 6m for a downwinder and see if it is the right size for you (on a totally unrelated note, i also have a 6m Neo that i've been meaning to sell).

Hey mate
im 90kg plus rider, strapless surfboard in a small wave grovel shape (custom 5'9")
i'm riding 6 and 8m 2016/17 neos
22m lines

I wont usually put the 6m up until 22kn solid (ie. gusts to 25). Could downwind it at 20kn but it is crossed over with 8m then, and I don't DW that much

fun zone/lit at 25kn solid,
max out when getting to solid 30kn IMO on 6m (unless happy to have overpowered boost session or ride shorter lines)

Sorry, can't convert to mph here (donating blood haha)
hope that helps

Just to add my take, im 80kg strapped surfboard rider on 2018 6,8,10 neos.
I dont use the 6 until our local wind meter is ave 23-24 knots. Am sure i could use it in less but the 8 is good up to 28-30knots at least.

all depends if you want just enough power, or prefer being fully powered i think.

Dave, what's your range for the 6, please? I have 8 and 10 and really dig the 8 for strapless freestyle and some waveriding. Is the 6 similar to 8 in feel and qualities, does it differ anywhere?

Thanks!

Yeah 6 feels same as the others just a lot faster and quicker to respond. I use it from 23-24 knots up to 40+knots (not very often).

2018 is very similar to all the previous neos, though it does seem easier to hold onto when its super windy. That could be me improving as well.

Cheers
