looking at a 2014 Naish Park.

I am 99% sold, just need to confirm with someone what the line slack is like and bar pressure.

Other option is the RPM.

How much line slack do you want? Whether it is the RPM or Park you won't be getting much at all. No SLE slacks properly (Park, RPM, Switchblade, Dice, or Catalyst or anything other kite of this nature). If freestyle is your #1 concern I would look at some sort of bridled C (if you want to freeride and go at the waves a bit too) or a full on C if it's freestyle only.

Most of those kites mentioned are bridled C.

The Park won't match a Vegas or Torch for slack but for a bridled kite it's certainly one of the best options for unhooking.

Yeah it's kind of hard to define them... The Chaos to me is a bridled C where as the Park would be an SLE in my mind. But whatever you want to call it even a Chaos won't slack AS much as a Torch. Basically bridles = less slack so if all you're doing is freestyle get a proper C if you want range and more all around ability go for a Park, RPM, Dice or something like that.

I think it depends on what size kite you are after.
I use torches in the bigger sizes and a 7 Park for when the wind approaches 30 kts.
Smaller kites will always slack more than bigger kites and I get about the same slack on the 7 Park as I do on the 9 Torch.
Park is definitely one of the best bridles freestyle kites, IMHO it slacks better than last years Chaos or Dice, and Switchblade and Catalyst just don't slack.
I would always pick a C in the bigger sizes if you want to get slack :)

From what i have read there was a lot of changes from the 2012 to the 2013 C4's. The 2012 was more freeride and was altered to be more wakestyle orientated.

In my experience i can land more passes on a 2005 liquid force spectrum than on the C4. I still think it is a good kite for everything else but i don't think it excels in getting line slack.

I used to own 2012 and 2013 C4’s. I now have a couple 2014 RPM’s in my quiver. I also spent a bit of time trying the 2014 C4 (about 3 hours all up).

Out of all of those the RPM slacks the least, then the 2012 C4, then 2013 C4, and the 2014 was the best unhooked out of those 3 IMO (but just didnt quite do it for me overall. Seemed a little inefficient or something). I might like it more now I’ve progressed a bit further towards wakestyle..

Bar pressure order: 2012 C4 (no bar pressure at all), then 2014 RPM, then 2013/14 C4’s similar bar pressure but noticeably heavier than 2012 C4 and RPM. RPM has a medium bar pressure. Bar pressure is something I've had to get used to coming off early model Ozones for so long.

I found the 2012 C4 not stable enough/too twitchy or fast (for me) progressing with bar passes. Alas still liked the kite (was kinda my yardstick at the time). RPM is much more stable in the air (surprising being 3-strut) but you do notice the constant pull.

Similar to the 13 an 14 models but slightly stiffer in the arc. Construction changes are the new inflate valve, new bar and trailing edge reinforcement.

I've ridden the Park, C4, and RPM and the Park does not slack better than the C4 and maybe does marginally more than the RPM. None slack that well to be honest, not like a 5 line C anyway. As I said, if that's what he wants he should go full C for sure.
