My Comments:
Had a fun downwind session from City Beach to Trigg this afternoon. Used a 10m Ozone Reo wave kite, wind was cross-on about 15-18knts, waves were mainly small wind slop with the occasional waist high wave. Really enjoyed the board, felt comfortable immediately, looking forward to pushing new boundaries, here are some initial thoughts for anyone interested in this board.

-Smooth, predictable rail to rail turns with light foot pressure required for super tight turns
-Push hard and feel the acceleration through the turn
-Can bust fins out into a controlled slide, need to drive it fairly hard
-Very light feel underfoot
-Crisp, firm ride yet smooths out the chop
-Fast tight bottom turns
-Easily driven beyond vert and back again
-Planes high on surface, ready to pop
-Very thin board, sinks down at low speed but very quick to get up and plane
-Enough tail rocker to handle straight line drop off a lip without burying the nose
-Generally lands underfoot off the lip, but being a light board stay centred over the board to keep good control
-Performance board, awesome for reaching new levels, also try the Whip or Wam if you want a softer ride
-Deck grip is a good option, adds comfort, smooths the ride, provides better grip, eliminates need for constant maintenance and handles a bit of heat if placed in the sun, stored in the car, etc.
-Seems quite strong and durable, hoping the nose doesn't crease in the shore break, past three years model North boards have handled it without an issue
-Stiff fins give a lot of drive and hold solid

I had a wave that walled to about shoulder high, in this wave, the board became quite exciting to ride, the speed and responsive, smooth turns were quite confidence inspiring. Although this board handled the slop conditions, it is on a real swell that it will most likely come into its own.

What's the weight of the board?

Nath, have you riden the 2013 WAM yet? Im interested to know the difference between the 2 and get some feedback from those who have riden both. I was riding the 2012 WAM and have opted to upgrade to the 2013 WAM this year but was a very tough call at the time.

To omg, our scales reckon it's about 3.2kg with fins and deck pads. It feels quite light to pick up and even lighter to ride. I assume it would be a similar construction and weight to the lighter 2012 boards of the same volume.

To Rooboy, compared to the 2013 Wam, the Pro Seres is noticeably thinner and has more rocker between the front and rear footstrap positions. Most of the other features were very similar.

On the water, I can only compare it to a 2011 Wam. They have the same smooth rail to rail turn characteristics and always seem to land underfoot. The main differences that I noticed were that the Pro Series:
-Requires less pressure to turn
-Makes tighter turns
-Feels higher/more skatey at speed
-Keeps nose higher
-Feels lighter underfoot

Having used the 2011 Wam and then a 2012 Whip, the Pro Series seems to combine some of my favourite features from each. I think the 2013 Wam will also be a very sweet ride, with the slightly flatter rocker I would expect that it should give a very fast, smooth ride.
