Been flying RPM's for a while now and am really happy with them. Am about to buy some new kites and am wondering how 2011 Fuels compare. Am mainly into wakestyle/freestyle riding. Would be great to hear from any people who have switched from one kite to the other for whatever reason.

Team rider for slingshot
hey mate Fuels are fairly the same compared to the RPM except that they don't hav a pully, flies more directly and has a slower response time on the bar. both kites are really good but i prefer the Fuel for the way it loops and it's direct and super stable feel and power delivery. hope this helps

Hi mate, i disagree with the above, i tried the RPM's, and then tried the Fuels... i really didnt like the RPM, but the Fuel was loads better!
Jumped better, unhooks a bit better and feels alot better overall on the bar!

Imo, they are definately not pretty much the same kite!!

You need to try it really!

yip i did try recently. i found the rpm is much more responsive. the fuel took a bit of diving to get me going where rpm just throw it down once and then park it. the fuel did have much more slack when going for passes which was great. so much i would need to get used to it... felt weird to have no resistance at all but i'm sure this would be good. fuel didn't have the same relaunch ability as rpm flying it 4 line... was ok but not as easy. fuel definitely felt more gusts. rpm would be more fun allround and i don't think i would want the fuel in the surf (or possibly gusty winter riding)... i think the fuel is definitely just for summer trick riding. i have only had one ride so this is just my initial feelings on it.
still undecided which kite i want next as they are both great kites... and yea i agree they are both WAY different feeling kites.

It shows that either kite can be used for top level riding. Andy and Zoon are both equally as good riders. The kites are not the same but either should work, get the one you like the feel of the most.
