Guys do you know if $800 a good deal for 2011 Naish Torch 12m in perfect condition + original new 2011 Naish bar and lines. My weight is 175 pounds, height 6.1 and I'm planning to use it as the only kite for light wind and for high wind switch to my windsurfing wave board...
I'm young, fit plus pretty decent windsurfer, but newby kiter...
The guy will be sending pictures and claims that he barely used it since he got 2012 model.. and that it's almost new
Do you think it's better to go for Naish Park in 12/14m.. Will Park have better wind range and be more user friendly than Torch? I also wonder what wind range 14m Park can cover for a 175 pound/ 75-80kg person without being overpowered?

If you can find a Park for similar price, then absolutely!
Don't own a Park so couldn't advise to wind range other than what the Naish site probably recommends...
F-one Bandit 3/4's are supposed to have very good low-end too and are newbie friendly
The Torch is a fantastic kite, however it's not all that suitable for a beginner. The Naish Park is far more user friendly, and would allow you to progress faster, with safety in mind.
The Torch, being a C shaped kite is harder to re-launch and has a smaller wind range than other kite designs. If you can get your hands on a Park, give it a crack and I'm sure you'll love it.
C kite is ok, however I'd suggest to get one once you know what your are doing/buying.
Of course one can start with C kite if you will go full on freestyle etc. However before you get C kite, go to beach and take a look how much beating kites get while ppl learn freestyle.
dont go a c kite for learning as the relaunch is a lot harder. i have got a switchblade and that is great but im going to sell for a torch because it isnt good for unhooking. far more grunty than a park and a lot slower it is a great learner/freeride kite but it isnt suitible for my riding needs
Go the Park i've got a 2011 14 love it ,best 14m kite i've ever ridden to date, have had it out in around 25 knots (95kg) my mate has one too (80kg)and he has no probs in up to low 20's on his.
Hi Leto I use a 2012 12m Torch and it is a fantastic kite. As a light wind kite though this is now what it is designed for. I would not recommend a torch as a beginners kite. $800 does sound like a good deal though. You would be able to learn on it but expect a bit more pain. I think the Park would probably be better in light winds more forgiving and easier to relaunch.
I have the park and I love it. When I started kiting I went for an advanced kite and found it actually slowed my progress. Look for something stable and not too fast.
