their wicked, most stable kite ive ever flown. im 55kg ride a lightwave 130cm board and was out all day with the caloundra rivermouth all to myself im guessing i was in about 7-9 knots and it was so much fun in the glassy smoth water and clean waves it was still possible for me to do jumps and tricks. im just starting to unhook and it gives me confidence to try unhooking more because after landing downwind when unhooked the kite dozent stall it just floats back in the window and makes it easy to hook back in. relaunches well but ive only crashed it once, has alot of depower and it turns fast for its size. try and demo 1, every1 thats had a go has loved it and wants 1 2. we dont get much wind on the sunshine coast but l8tley ive been kiteing nealy every single day and haveing a ball

Yep, agrred with Snoidberg,

We have one in our demo truck. It gets pulled out when it's barely whitecapping and everyone is sitting on the beach waiting for it to pick up. I like to ride it on the North Race LTD and it gets me flying upwind and powered in 10-12 knots on this combo. I can barely hold full sheeted in power on the race board.

We gave it to "chopper" to ride late one arvo, she weighs about 55 kilos and it was blowing about 17-18 knots and she rode it no problems and really enjoyed it.

It does turn fast for the monster it is and can be thrown around pretty quick but don't expect it to turn like a 10, it's still a big kite. I reckon it tuns like most average 14's.

It's a kite that you don't have to sine to get going. Just dive it, get on the board and build speed then away you go.

On the race board it's really deceiving, it feels really windy as you go flying upwind and the only time you truly appreciate its power is when you slow to gybe and change tacks and you notice the extreme lack of wind, until you dive it and get going again.

I ain't saying race out and buy one, but you should try and get a demo on one if you want to ride all conditions.

Cheers,

KH

Approx the same as the 12/14M Light XC, its got low/med bar pressure, and turns and handles as well as the 14M Light XC.

With the RaceLTD and a Crossbow 13 you would be well powered up and going upwind in 10-12 knots.

Does the Zephyr give much better bottom end than the Crossbow?

Hi Gorgo,

The Cab Switchy is a grunty kite for sure, but I think you'll find the bottom end of the Zephyr will be better by a couple of knots but the real gain is going to be in the relaunch. The Cabs are a heeavy kite whereas the Zephyr has no Dacron in the canopy at all apart from the thin strip on the wing tips. This makes it light and more apt to be relaunched in light winds whereas the Switchy will be down and out.

Cheers,

KH
