I know there is probably a post about this but I saw the 09 rhino for the first time yesterday and noticed it looked like it flew and was shaped differently to the 08. Any feedback on the pro's con's from the riders? How is the relaunch?

I didn't think the 09 Rhino was due to come out until Feb or March 09. Are you sure that it wasn't the 08 model you were looking at. I have the 08 Rhino and it rocks, best kite I've had yet, I hope they don't change the 09 model to much, It's a great kite already. If it is the 09 mod your looking at, what shape has it changed to.

There was a dude out at Melville yesterday, black helmet, tall, had a white North I have never seen before, hybrid, I asked him if it was the new vegas and he said no, it's the new rhino.

Seems like the 08, note the back line Y connection, if it works like on the Evo, it prvents the backlines from coming over the kite when you turn it around on the water.

It could be the 09 mod, what did the guy have to say about it. Any good or what.

pretty sure it was the 2009 Evo..

well... the guy who was riding it said it was the rhino... I would have thought he new what he was riding... I couldn't make out what it was as I hadn't seen it before but it didn't look like the evo that I have also seen down there.

hi guys for those who are interested, i have just purchased an 09 rhino, it was a dealer demo sent out 2 weeks ago, i tried it twice and had to have it !!! , the kite will still be available for demo though. anyway here goes its 4/5 line affair i personally fly it on 4 lines as im a 5th line phobe, 1 pump system same as the rebels, 6 struts (middle 1 missing) mine is a 10 mtr green and white with awesome graphics, no pulleys this year but plastic/nylon rings instead, seem to work ok we will have to see. my initial impressions are, awesome upwind performance, very fast through the window, awesome low end ,moderate bar presure ,monster lift and cool hangtime (im 104 kgs) real easy relaunch,quite delta shaped. i just love this kite it suits my style of riding perfectly i will probably never do handle passes at my age anyway(43) old git , and love old school moves and big air, im sure in the hands of someone who can really do this kite justice will have a ball on this kite.

heya i live in mount maunganui north island new zealand, i have no idea if it turns quicker than the 08 rhino as i have never flown one, my previous kites were 08 evos, 08 waroos, and 07 rhinos, turns faster than the evo with lighter bar presure thats the only comparison i can make, whenever you get the chance demo one they are awesome

Yes it turns quicker than 08. Much quicker.

Bar pressure to turn is less too.

Everything feels better to me. Fast, more lift, more instant depower through bar sheeting.

I had a one kite quiver of 10m 08, now on 10m 09.

Better wave rider.

I fly mine 4 lines, both 08 and 09 models.

New bridle tangles less too.

NC Surfer... What 4-lin bar are you using on the 08? I also have an Evo 15m wich works fine on 4 line... I saw recomendations tu use the Slingsht bar, but I do not like below the bar depower strap... Thanks

2009 Rhinos have finally landed,
those that had their orders in early should see kites in the next couple of days. Unfortunately as they are so new I haven't even seen one out of the bag yet but I'm sure there will be reviews up here soon as soon as you guys get your hands on them.
for those of you who didn't get orders in, have a chat to your local north dealer asap, as stock is pretty light on.

OK here's a short review ,,
like the kite ,it is a lot faster than the 08 ,turning is nice a crisp. had it out in the top wind range yesterday[25knts /12 mtr]nice an stable considering the gusts, jumps nice ,hang time is good too,bar pressure is a lot less than 08 so its a more comfortable fly.
will definetly get it in the 9mtr

... got half my order today too, a 12m, no 16m yet. Pulleys in bridal are a pulley without the rotating wheel, its like a pulley whose moving parts have siezed up solid, but the line running through it is thicker to decrease wear. No moving parts so no break downs, I hope!!!!.

Now, if only we had some wind, damn it ...
