Hey Ive got a 08 cult and still with the Sigma shape they dont fly any good in light winds.
Somethin bout the way the wingtips are swept back that if there is not enough wind to foce them out the tips sorta pinch in an cause the kite to stall, more than some other designs.
But on the otherhand when there is wind and plenty of it and you think you need a smaller size just pull on that depower and no flappin or fallin out the sky. She's sweet as pie.
If it's nose diving and falling forwards then as BrisKites said - you need more back line tension. Stupid 100% depower rubbish has brainwashed people into thinking the further the bar is away from you the better. You NEED line tension to keep almost all kites stable; more so with the Sigma shaped kites. Without back line tension the kite will be flying only off it's front lines (duh) which given enough depower throw will allow it to flatten out and then fall nose first towards the ground.
I've seen it happen with all sorts of different kites. More often than not it's just a matter of adapting your flying style and remembering not to have the sliding stopper too far out. If all lines have tension, your not using too much depower, and the wind is stable then the kite won't have a reason to be able to luff and fall.
If it's backstalling then that's honestly bizarre. Sigma's are incredibly difficult to backstall in all but non-existant wind; which suggests you do indeed need more wind.
