I ride an 07 Thorn, and love it. Lots of pop, really fast which helps in light winds, and really good in the chop. And it says smell my finger :D

Strong = woodcore, light, well most of the woodcore boards are around 3.5 to 4.5 kg complete.
Woodcore gives superior strength and flex/pop.
The 07 and 08 Undergrounds are woodcore, so are many others including cardboards.
Seems to me that a lot of foam core boards eventually break if you keep them long enough and ride hard/jump big(meaning land hard sometimes!).

wood or carbon construction boards are nice... they feel super responsive compared to foam boards and they generally flex / reflex better givin nicer pop.. i want to try the 08 or 07 underground range and see what they feel like.. that carbon pro from coronations is very very nice and reccomend checking it out dude. the 128s a really nice size too

i`ve just recieved a z series aboard 136x 40.5 and the board awesome.flys up wind better than my old wlf liquid force 140 x 46 has stacks of pop and feels as stable and as solid as a rock. very similar to a nobile 555 or 666.

The bomb proof board the lunacy from slingshot is awesome I love it best board I've ever had full wood and nice light weight, plus has handled verything I've thrown at it. First board I'm fully confident to try absolutly any trick on..

lunacy

yeah its a wood/foam sandwich construction which is good. When you land it doesnt feel like jumping from 3m onto concrete with no shoes on like most wood boards.

wood core boards are good for manufacturers.

cheap core
strong. eg less warranty drama's.

for riding. haven't found any i really enjoyed. But maybe thats just kiri cores (Paulownia), some other woods may be better. Who knows! Poplar perhaps?

I'm doubtful whether the whole wood thing is good!

Hi carbine

Id like to prove you wrong, if your at KITE STOCK, and we have wind , which looks sort of sus at the moment, have a ride of the CORONATION carbon pro, not a full wood core, this board wont feel like landing on concrete.

The thing is, with a wood core you can get a flex pattern unavailable with foam and glass, they usually dont last with a foam core.

yeah i found the lunacy to be pretty **** house 2..

as for other wood core boards liek the corronations, undergrounds, and i THINK the xpact has a wood core this yr? but anyway i found boards consisting of carbon and wood construction to be very nice, lively, and generally soft to land on

the best board i have used to date would have to be the liquid force comp, cuts through chop relli easy and is great for the massive jumps as it is so light, and is also relli good for wakestyle. not sure how strong they are tho???

maybe you and i have different ideas on what soft is.

to me this years xpact is like a plank to land on (no surprises next years, is a lot flexier).

i can only imagine what a full wood and carbon board will be like! yikes (and no, i dont want shin splints)

this yrs xpact is pretty average for landings.. next yr's ones are creaming..
the corro boards which are wood and carbon are soft asss to land on.. if u find landins hard on them ur fkd in the head.
underground boards are nice az to land on too and they are wood. once again if u dont find them soft or smooth ur fkd in the head. mayb u just land stupidly flat footed without bracing with ur knees

i ddnt really like protoys. they alright but not that great, landings on that isnt as smooth as other boards. flip tips for gooons is nice tho so you dont nose dive too much just kidding keep ur panties on.

the 666 i thaguht destroys the protoy in every field. i got a xpact lyin round home atm n they are nice 2.. wood core with carbon ibeams.
