I havent ridden one but i did consider getting one.

They have heaps of flex and are supposed to be super comfortable in the chop. They arent supposed to have much pop but the bloke riding it on our demo day was still jumping and poping pretty nicely.

I didnt like the footpads or straps on the Sol, so got the FLX instead.

I think the 08 boards have better pads and straps now?

Sorry, I cant really help much here but from what I've heard they are a nice board.

Hey guys,

I brought a 142cm Sol last December, i'm pretty sure its a 08 model, and my brother has the model before that.

Being a big bloke, 6ft3 and 95kg, and only using a 12m Helix Kite, i used to struggle a lot on my 136cm Misfit. Since i brought the bigger board i have never looked back, now able to ride comfortably in 12-13Knots.

The main thing i noticed about the Sol was how smooth it was through the water and how solid it was in the water. You can really notice the bigger fins working well. Although it did take a little getting used too compared to the Misfit, which seems a little rear end slippery.
The board rips up wind with a little front foot effort.
Its also a great board for ridding in the waves.

One thing i noticed though between the 07 and the 08 Sols is that the 07 seems to have better bindings. But thats just a personal opion.

Hope this helps

Hi Mitch, I went to JB's Naish promotion night held at SOS when they released all there gear towards the end of last year. He went into a lot of detail about the Sol and they did look well constructed boards with everything the tricksters would need in regards to flex and design.

I think you will be doing well to find one second hand, but good luck.

Just had a quick look and there are 3 in the buy and sell. One in NT, Depending on your weight the 136 would be a good size as an all round board.
