I had the best and the worst day ever at Inverloch (Vic) on Sunday...

Sweet sunny weather, awesome wind... I thought, you know what i'll stcik my gopro on my board and record some sick footage.

Bad idea - the black clip that mounts the camera to the board clamp sheered off and my gopro fell into the water and is now sleeping with the fishes...

So, if anyone finds a HD GoPro on the shores of Inverloch or floating about in the inlet... Please phone 0435779270

Did you have the safety leash hooked up?

Yeah, i had a leash around my foot strap connecting onto the camera mount and then a cord connecting the camera to the mount. I thought i had all bases covered.

I was going pretty fast and i assume that when the camera sheered from the mount and possibly hit the water - the force must of snapped the cord!

I feel like crying.lol

Ugh! Sounds like you had a decent setup...

I stopped riding my gopro on my kite board after it snapped a mount (admittedly) during a fair sized stack. The angle is cool, but not at the cost of losing a camera every once and a while.

Unless someone can build us a better mousetrap.

PS: I wonder how much foam you need to stick to the back of a gopro to make it float - just a though...

Hey Guys, sorry to hear about your camera. I use one on my helmet for jetskiing and always had that fear of losing it in the surf. I ended up finding a 'lifejacket' for it and it works great! Just search 'Gopro lifejacket' in ebay and you'll find them in the USA. The sellers name is 'wiscon'. All the pics and info are there. Cheers.
