hi
i've just purchased a type 9 RRD after reading the exceptional reviews on it but i've tried to fly it twice and it flies like crap. it continually falls out of the sky in mid flight, has very little downwards pull, but extremely large amount of upwards pull. wondering if anyone has any reasons why this is happening?

I think the reason is because your a kook....
Surely the qualified instructor you had lessons with would have given advice on the who, how, and when of kite purchase? ??
Why not ask him or her about kite set up? ?

Will trade you a ham and cheese sanga and a can of coke for it

Harsh..
What size?

Does it fall backwards or forwards?

Are you using it with 5 Lines?

Under sheeted? Try shortening the rear lines.

Pigtail lengths were dodgey on a few of these kites.

I would suggest putting some longer pigtails on the rear with knots at even intervals. Start from the longest to shortest (On a light day).

If it is falling backwards = Too short
Falling forwards = Too long.

the type 9 is about 4-5 years old . Hope you didn't pay too much . What bar are you using with it . Have you checked your line lengths on the bar etc etc . .

I had a 12m, it was quick for a 12m, not a great deal of grunt, good for waves, in todays kite terms for flat water, it's stink!
It had a tendency to stall, so the guy may have overcompensated by making the back lines too long.

brilliant reviews from 2008 ?

have you checked the lines that they are all the same length ?

Sell the kite and if you want to stay RRD then go a vision or obsession
