Let's hear your tips for sending stuff across the country.

I'm sending a used board, but Aussie post is out (can't post anything over 105cm long.)
I found a courier who will do it for $42, I think that's pretty reasonable, alot were around $60 - 80.

To get the cheapest price i had to minimise the dimensions of the parcel.
So i removed the fins (which i was going to do anyway,) but i also undid one side of each footstrap and laid it flat.

The dimensions for a 142cm board came to 141cm (go figure) x 39 x 7. So i was pretty happy with that.

Sorry for the non-confrontational and uncontorversial nature of this post, i'm sure it won't hang around for long But feel free to add some humour or controversy as you see fit.

If you sweet talk the old ladies behind the desk at Aus post - They'll let it through... We send boards (up to 148!) quite regularly via Auspost, havn't had one come back yet...

Works out a few bucks cheaper than the couriers as long as it's in an irregular shaped box (so they can't calculate a cube weight)...

We also send most of our boards with Aus post, gotta know the ladies and make sure box is as small as possible and under 15kg or they will charge you an arm and a leg.

Good advise to put some extra insurance on your freight, they sometimes treat boxes badly and you end up with damaged goods and only 100$ insurance comes with normal freight.

greyhound is great too, just gotta pick up at depot
