I have a 2008 10m liquid force kite im trying to get back in business .
I dont have the safety leash for it . can i just use any leash if they can hook on ? .i have a 2009 12m Naish kite with a safety leash that i could use but not sure if its a good idea .

You can. Although if your leash doesn't have its own safety release then i'd strongly recommend you get one that does. If you're in Perth i can lend you one.

Kite safety has come a long way in the last 10 years, if you are committed to getting back into it consider trading in for something post 2012, performance has improved as well and you can probably combine the 12m and 10m into a single suitable kite.

A question like this raises serious doubts about your ability to kite with a reasonable degree of safety. Hey - I am all for doing stuff way above your level but when you are in trouble can you react appropriately to potentially save your butt????
My friend do you and the kiting community a big favour and take a refresher lesson or two. You most likely need it.

Yeah... the fact that you're asking this question is a big red flag... please take some lessons before you injure yourself or someone else on the beach...

Agreed with everyone above. You should seriously consider lessons and renewing your equipment for your own safety and the safety of others.

You don't even need a safety leash, just use one of them bungee cord/occy strap things....

+1, They are all teachers and are spooking for business. I generally just tie mine off with rope. If i'm going for a long session ill use a cable tie as rope sometimes comes un-done.

Just make sure its through the ring on the back of your harness so it doesn't get in the way.
