What Ross said. Very laid back Island, good choice for that time of year. Plenty of other places, but this is an affordable option around the Cancun circus.

La Ventana is epic. Very windy, awesome water for diving, whale watching, fishing. Cheap and chilled
Playa Central is the place to go in LV.Check out the Hydrofoil Pro Tour video from last years event there.

La Ventana is awesome, and I would rather go there, however the poster did say he was going to be in the Caribbean, hence the suggestion for IH. May is a little late in the season for La Ventana too.
