Is 9 mile beach between redhead and blacksmiths good for beginers

maybe in summer...in winter, any decent wind is likely to be westerly (ie offshore = no good) or a southerly which will result in large waves.

Ocean facing surf beaches are generally never good for beginners.

Start in the channel at Swansea heads.
