Hi guys,
Just got out of surgery and begining to worry about when I can get back on the water.....Possibly still got morphine residue in veins as well so i realise it may be a "little" early.
Effectively had to have an incisional hernia repaired running down centre of stomach - 14 inches long. Caused by previous surgery.
My surgeon reckons a minimum of 3 months off the water...I nearly cried like a baby.
So, my question is, has anyone else had major surgery and gone back to kiting in less than 3 months or is it just a case of letting your body tell you when the time is right?
In the meantime - there will be a kite bitch available for use on the stkilda and altona beaches regularly until I may set sail into the land of faceplants once again!

Hi Grog,
I fractured my femure end of June. I was on the water again after 2 months (wakeboarding). It hurt when doing little jumps. I waited another month before going kiting and it was just ok. Jumps still hurt.
4 weeks ago I had a CT done because it was still hurting when doing jumps. The CT showed the femure didn't unite and the rod inside the bone was holding the bones apart. Back into hospital 2.5 weeks ago to get the rod exchanged with a shorter rod (and this time the screw screwed through a longhole).
I will be on the water again in a couple of weeks.
Your body will tell you when it's good to jump onto a board again.
