I did a quick search and came up dry which surprises me as this must have been done to death !!

My front lines are shagged and need replacing so the questions are - If I don't want take the hit on the original equipment product - who is able to provide good after market line sets (that aren't from china)

I need them to be as original line lengths and with the ends sewn into loops to make larks heads.

I see on ebay I can buy big rolls of spectra - of which some is around 500 lb or just 225 kg

Other line is available at closer to 1000 lb or 455 kg breaking strain.

So what to do ??? go the kite company seriously stupid expensive replacement lines sets or go after market 500 or 1000 lb lines ??

Hi
years ago i was into selling kite lines on Ebay, bought a box full and all went good until a year later everyone
started doing it.
line is waxed Dyneema (400kg)
only have red and blue stearing line and both grey depower.
both ends are looped but i can change if you need on end like North or Cabrinha etc
comes as 27mtr from memory but i do cut down.
looking at getting rid of it now so 4 lines to your specs will be $55.

If you don't want to get originals for your kite these are possibly the most robust I've used, try your local 1st, they might have another brand that'd suit,

In power lines and full set also

How good is this site, i'm gonna get 4 different coloured strings, would you just get 500kg for the middle two and weaker for the steering?

I bought some lines from him and a heap of lines to make my own. It's all good stuff and well made. I think I got all 360kg so I could mix and match. That's still way stronger than most kite brands use.

Ozone do 500kg front and 300 kg back lines, or 300/200 for race kites.

I always have been of the opinion that you should use the strongest practical breaking strain lines. So bring on the 500kg farkers.

But I've changed my mind. What happens if you somehow are stuck attached to your powered kite in a tree or a boulder wall or even getting dragged in the waves.

Its probably better to have lines that can hold your weight for powered riding and big jumps but also snap before you snap in the above mentioned situations.

Derrrr ,

If you were stuck in a tree with a powered kite ....

You would release it, wouldn't you ?

You wouldn't be hoping and praying and waiting for some line to 'snap'.

lol.
