Just thought i'd ask... i was out yesterday in 25-28kn yesterday and ripping with an 8m, and was trying out a few different things with looping and trying to get the timing right... but i couldn't quite figure out what to do when.
Built up speed (travelling left), redirected the kite back past 12 and boost. As i'm going up i initiated the loop when the kite got to about 1 o'clock. Kite loops clockwise down to about 2-3m above where i am, gets back up and catches me as i come in for the landing. Ride away towards the right. So is that a proper kiteloop? A transition kiteloop? Something else?
The other one i tried was similar, travelling left, redirected the kite back but kept the kite at 11 o'clock and looped it clockwise from there. Kite went low and straight through the middle of the wind window resulting in massive power. Kite didn't get back up to the top of the window in time to catch me so i ended up landing bloody hard and fast - butt check; not much fun.
If you are going left, a kiteloop is looping the kite clockwise, a downloop is looping the kite anti-clockwise
