How is everyone today. Sorry if this has been asked 100 tines before but will all modern wakeboard boots fit all modern kiteboards? And is there a difference between wake and kite boots useability wise. Just seems easier to find wake boots for sale on the net. Wanted to know as im considering getting a setup before I snap an ankle unhooking. Also how bad are the faceplants compared to wakeboarding, not looking forward to that part. Thanks

Ahhhhh. I am experienced in this.
I did the same thing, put the wakeboard boots on my kiteboard. First 10 minutes got twisted in the air and came down hard. Snapped where the binding bolts into the board. I believe a good set of kiteboard boots has a metal plate there instead of plastic.
And it hurt like buggery. Had a head ache for about a week.
Just remember, behind a boat you can throw it and the pull stops so it's not too harsh. When you're on a kite it'll keep pulling until it parks or crashes. And with boots on you get pulled as well. Painful stuff.

My mates who bought proper kiteboard boots reckon they're the best thing since sliced bread though.

Thanks for the info. Yeh in my head im picturing being streched between the kite and the board straight after a high speed faceplant. Might try and find a super grippy set of straps instead. Dont think im ready for a face reconstruction just yet.

Just demo some or borrow some from a mate. If your wanting to start unhooking i reckon u will like them. imo bindings are x10 better then straps...

just to be clear the boots are much more responsive, however stacking does hurt like hell.

Hmm ill definatly have to try demo some by the sounds of it. Also what are a list of boards built to handle the bindings? Petty sure the scew holes are built in better on some boards than others. Been looking at cabrinha custom a bit

Tripping the heelside edge can really suck, other than that stackings no different. That is unless you're into looping and get it wrong!

All wakeboard boots fit kite boards
Not all kiteboards fit wakeboard boots
Generally a kiteboard that doesn't have a Six inch spacing between the inserts is going to break if used with boots.
Beware of boards with track system mounts, you will most likely rip them out
I'm biased, I have a team deal with Airush and I really enjoy the Livewire, Demo it. It's got lots of rocker but goes upwind great

I've got a cab custom, and the boots broke first.
