hey just heard on the radio this morning everyone has 2 days to register to vote if you want to vote for the day light savings referendem. So as long as you want to vote yes make sure you register so we have some chance of getting it passed :)

is the referendum taking place in every state or just WA?

This is gonna be a close one. I read in the paper the other day that the current polling is saying that the vote is 51% against, 47% in favour and 2% undecided.

It's going to be close so we need every vote to count. Daylight savings is a blessing for those that work 9-5 and even means that I get to have a kite after we finish at 7pm most nights!

It's also much easier to keep in touch with friends and family on the east coast as the extra hour time difference makes it much more difficult to catch up.

Lets win this one!

All it means to me is that all you time poor office jockeys (and other workers) come down and crowd up my beach an hour earlier.

But I'll vote YES - just for you!

Only plus for me is that with an earlier start ur all stuffed, packed up and gone well before dark. So then I get to come back down for a lazy, uncrowded sunset sesh to finish off my day.

Thats right, try and convince everyone you know to vote yes.

Most retirees who are smart enough to realise it doesn't really matter to them are usually the ones who able to see the many benefits to other working people.
So, if someone you know says that it doesn't affect them either way, then let them know that it is their responsibility to vote YES for the rest of us!

kitehard is right, get everyone you know onto it its a great thing and it may get across the line if this doe not happen thios time it will 10years b4 they give it another go

Do we need to actually register that we want to vote about the daylight savings, or is it if we are enrolled then we can?? (From a YES voter!!-I dont get why anyone would say no!!)

Cant believe anyone would vote NO.
Been listening to all arguements on Tv and radio and most no voters are cutting off their nose to spite their face.
Here are some. . . those with babies . . still light baby cant sleep. . . solution close the curtain idiot and in a few years when you can take em down the beach or park after work you can!!
Its dark when i take dog for walk in morning. . . . WHAT THE **** DO YOU DO IN WINTER. . . does the dog not get walked for 6 months. . . . idiot
its too hot in the arvo to do anything. . . . piss off to a cold climate. . this is australia . . . it does get hot here, and you are probably in your car with the air con on coming home from work anyway
Lastly a l;ot of people are thinking of right now not say 5 years when their kids are older . If we vote no there will be a lot more fat kids and **** families who have parents who simply finish work and come home and sit on the couch cause its dark rather than taking kids to park, beach or where ever.
I still cant believe the vote is that close, it cant be just us that can see no negative with having daylight saving.
