hey whats the wind like in darwin in jan?
more importantly is there somewhere to kite without getting eating by crocs

I guess it depends on if there is a cyclone in the vicinity or not.

Jan is peak season for the monsoons, it is the time of year we all hang out for...
dont get too excited comin from WA, we are still talkin 12's to 16's...occasional 10.
there are some onshore waves to overhead (and a bit).
It also happens to be the time of year that the crocs mate, so there's a few of 'em roamin around. Dont stay still too long, and they wont try and root ya!

haha i think ill leave it as a fishing/beer drinking trip then!!!
just downsized to a 10/7 combo for this season
dont want to be underpowered with those crocs around

i've been really really powered up on a 10m torch before, but im only 74kg. monsoon can blow up to 30 knots.

Couldnt hold the 12 on thursday had to put the 10 up. Wet season rocks ! have had the 7 out a few times last year but i agree with T One if your used to Perth winds D town can be frustrating.
