Sweet said...Hi all,
I just want to post a positive thankyou to John from SOS who was patient and passionate in sharing his knowledge in helping me out when i went to enquire about buying a surf board. I am not a surfer but considering branching out from just my twin tip with little knowledge - gotta start somewhere i guess!

In comparison i was exteremely disheartened and flabbergasted by the abrupt and limited service I recieved upstairs in a place in melville - it was not cool at all

thankgod for the Johns and DM's of the world to be encouraging and to help us beginners and not so beginners out!
I've been lees than impressed with a few kiteshops, and their Australian distributors or international agents. I had a 2007 Rhino that after 4 sessions the struts were separating from the leading edge. The distributor didnt want anything to do with it, and the store in melville, replaced it and wore the cost, I call that great service.
Bought a 2009 fuel from windforce, after 2 sessions the trailing edge was flapping like crazy, It was missing the reinforcing string to keep the canopy tight, 24th Dec, 2008, Steve was great, he kept hassling them, but it was up to the agent. In October 2009 it was finally replaced with an 8m RPM, great kite, but not the same price, Never again.
Had an underground delaminate after the first use, I took the board back to the store so they could start a warranty claim, after 4 weeks, I'd heard nothing. Went into the store and nothing had been done, I got in contact with Adrian directly who told me to go to the store and get a new one, great service from Underground, the store's service was crap. Again, never again.
I guess some people dont see the big picture, keep a customer happy when things go wrong and they have a customer for life, piss them off and they tell at least 10-20 mates about it and lose potential sales for ever.
As an ex-industry pimp, Its a hobby business, and true professionals are few and far between. For me props have to go to Joe Millen (Best), Adrian (Underground), Marvin (Xenon) and Bastien Fury (Nobile). Cabrinha also has a great warranty service.Potential slander is a can of worms, put you and you mates money where it deserves to go.
It's a bit like the schools teaching in gusty easterly winds in Perth, $200 odd bucks and the student learns bugger all. Susstomer service
