if you want to be held in, get some boots with moldable liners.

I got some ronix scouts when our dollar was nearly on par with the US dollar.
They were cheap as, and yet they still hold you in nicely and are super comfy.

like wakeboard bindings/boots?

2 things I should of mentioned
1- worried about knees and i hear wakebindings drill them
2- when I wakeboard after 30min the top of my foot aches like sweet zombie jesus! this also happened a bit with those cabrinha laceups. Not sure what causes it maybe someone out there knows. prob to tight around my foot BUT I dont want to slip out. any advice would be greatly appriciated.

yeah wakeboard bindings,

if you have nice boots like slingshot, ronix and good liquid force stuff and they are the right size your feet shouldn't hurt at all.

With a well fitted closed-toe boot you wont have to do them up tight either.
It's amazing how much better it feels not having to think about keeping ya feet in.

As long as your stance isnt to wide your knees should be fine.
In fact they will probably be better, nothing worse than one foot in one foot out!!

I have the same size feet and narrow as well. I have found the Cabrinha Sync backless bindings really hold my feet in. Is that what you have tried??

I was gunna let this slide but.... 1st of all, bindings are wakeboard/kiteboarding boots. Straps are straps! backless, frontless, d!#kless whatever. Yeah some dudes do knees in boots but you'll find more riders will strain ankles in straps.

Closed toe boots are cool but its hard to keep the sand out em. The synergy are suppose to be good but I haven't seen em yet.

I am thinking of bindings as well.

Can I put them on a nobile 555 134X41?

Is there much of a difference unhooked / handlepass wise with bindings? Do they take a long time to get used to?

I am recovering from a knee fracture, but have always been into wakestyle. Not sure if going bindings is a good idea but keen to try.

i am pretty sure you can't put bindings on a nobile 555.
they have a special kind of thread if i remember that got me into trouble.

the wake bindings eg ronix or liquid force escalades etc. are MUCH heavier than the kite bindings eg. unions.

but they look sooo much sexier(specially the new closed toe ronix's!!!!!)

makes no difference HP'ing, and they won't make you a better rider....but they do allow you to stomp harder landings tho! IMO

Should have worked. Standard inserts in boards are either 6mm metric or 1/4" imperial from memory. They look the same but are different threads.

Most wake boots come with imperial screws (damn americans, stupid imperial system!!)

Just make sure you check the spacing between the inserts will fit the boots you want to try

Same size feet and i'm riding with the small Cabrinha Sync's.
I've found it's just a matter of adjusting both the upper and lower lace to be really tight, then doing a knot just above the stupid plastic sliding 'lock' (that doesn't actually lock).
Aside from that, the Liquid Force Comp Lace's are also pretty damn good.

Have you thought about using a heel strap?

Hot feet? Dude you're on water for one thing. How hot do your feet get when you wear shoes on a hot day. Hot enough to notice, I doubt it.

Sand can be an issue for closed toe boots. Open toe no problems. A lot of dudes in colder climates like closed toe for a bit of warmth. That said, plenty in Aus that ride closed toe as well. Personal preference.

Sounds like quite a few people thinking about going for bindings. My advice is just do it. However, if you're not keen to simply commit then see if you can get a ride, but a couple of things first.

Bindings make certain tricks a little harder, extra weight etc.

It's best if you ride them a couple of times. One session might give you a slight appreciation but it's best to get a couple in to get the real feel for them.

YoMoFo is bang on with what he said.

Synergy bindings are sweet. They have replaced the escalades. Unions are very easy in and out.

synergys are good but the shanes or sovens are better, sand in closed toes what a load i've been wearing closed toes for three years no problem with sand at all. If you want to try some let me know can demo them at gold coast. or any of the new 09 liquid force gear is available for demo at gold coast call tony 0427826114

hot feet hahaha maybe if u kited in a volcano.

and if u do close toe boots up tight they barely ever get off which means sand isnt a problem. good to see alot of people wanting to try boots, definatley worth the try.

Thanks for all the input honestly I still dont know what to do though. I may have wasted 150 bucks on the sync's, Is anyone else having the same issue as far as feet slipping out and/or making there feet ache?. I might mix and match with the sync's pads and underground bindings/pads. cheers for all the insite

I've got these old bindings (hyperlite moon boots) who'd of thunk they were worth $350 - $400 back in the 90's!

Was thinking of throwing them on my jaime pro for a go. Do you reckon they'll be allright?

Also the wakeboard they are on is also a bit old school

But might be good for kiting when the wind's up? I'm 84kg's. Whadya reckon would be better the wakeboard or the jaime pro?

you might want to check that the hyperlite plates fit the north board before you do anything

You've got the Sync's done up too tight. Its a common mistake I hear about and I did it too at the start, but they are so much more comfortable than anything else I have tried, now that I have them set loose.
Try them again, wet them and do them up tight so they are contacting as much as your foot as possible, then loosen them off until you can get your feet in them quickly and easily, tie a knot behind the adjuster and go ride for a while, see if that changes your mind.

Kite bindings you cant go wrong with LF's Unions or Synergy. The Synergy replaced the Escalades this year, super light weight, super comfy you would not want to take your feet out of! The Unions is well known as one if not the most reliable boots for kiteboarding. It has no lace or moving parts, get in single-handed! We will take your carbs in as part-exchange.
