It's pretty hard to give you an opinion when we know nothing of the type of surf you get at your local wave spot. The board should be purchased with the waves in mind and then suited to your weight.

Tell us what waves you have : 2ft -3ft hollow and sucky or full and barely breaking etc
Let us know whether it will be onshore, offshore, cross on, cross off etc
Need to know body mass or weight
Do you plan on doing freestyle waves as well as wave riding?
and finally need to know whether you want to ride using kite power or wave power.

At least then I have a much clearer picture of what you want and what will suit you.

thanks guys, i am a good kiter (6 years), just dont get chance so want a board than can make the tranistion easy , i use a ss fuse all the time toe/ heal what ever, just want to use a suft board as good as my fuse, in all conditions, more details-

for sydney northern beaches, manly to palm beach , 3-9 foot waves , cross shore,14-25 knots 86kg have a 12 and 14 m 2009 rpm and a 9 rev,

can ride my underground surf board 5'7 already but cant jibe it well, thinking its too short , wonder if an underground freewave will help , how long are they ?

i origianlly had an underground s/f 5'8 (doesnt come in 5'7 i thought? ) and it was to gibe, too much volume and would wobble at speed which i find i need to get a smooth gibe happening, the freewave has a same outline but very different to ride and way easy to gibe , i have let three mates ride it now and one bought a demo board off k/p last week the other mate wants mine!


i think they come in three sizes and one is a thruster.... not too sure on that though....a shop might be able to give more details... all i know is after 8 months i still got the stoke for the freewave over all my other kite gear.

im actually suprised why it hasnt been pimped online before now ...

i got a 6 foot triggerbros hydro wich is a quady fish wich is awsome fun but crappy quality you can get one brand new for 320

I rode mostly last years rebel 7 meter from16 knots to 25 and this year have A 10 rebel and 7 Vegas and 8 gastra but have used 9 meter cabrinha convert as well with it in 14 knots just past weekend.
Try to get a demo , I am stoked as on mine!

I have a freewave 5'8 as well and has to be close to the ideal board as one can get for Prth conditions. (onshore slop). You can gybe this board with your eyes closed, very easy to ride strapless because of the padded deck, great in small to medium sized waves and you can jump the crap out of them with little risk of breakage.

I think they make them in a 6'2 as well.
