These guys make some sick pumps however they seem impossible to find in Australia, no distributor/dealer.

Anyone has some tips how to source one without spending the same amount on shipping costs?

Cheers

Thanks mate, onto it.

According to WMFG one shop (maybe surffx) got a whole shipment of the first version but none since as the demand for high-end pumps is low...

Most of the other brands now have a Big Pump exactly the same design, probably why you can't find WMFG here.
There is still plenty of demand for a good pump.

I heard (a while ago) the best kite distributor was handling WMFG. can't tell you if he still does but if you pm Steve (ozone kites Australia) he prob could. I have their grip and pump. Both good products. However their first gen hoses required tape modification to work. Other brands have since caught up with their pump quality

I believe Mystic has the same pump, most kite shops could order that in.

Most brands are useing their pump now with thier own logo on it. So you can just buy an Ozone, LF, OR maybe some others and they are the same

I think you'll find the mystic the same size and design. Ozone, Slingshot, & others are same design but 1 size down. (Not as tall) having said that, I don't use the full extension (stroke) of the WMFG so all the others would work just as quickly. Look at hoses, bags? and wrap up of each to select what suits. Some nozzles pop off and some brands don't work well on others. Ask the retailer.

All those pumps are made by GRI in China, this model would be the GRI HP3 special version pump with screw on hose.

It's 2.9L instead of the standard HP1 which is 2.3L that most kite manufacturers sell with their logo on it.

The HP3 would be marginally quicker pumping IMO than the HP1 but much taller. Probably not worth it especially for a $100. If you shop around or you are a previous customer from a kite shop you can bargain down the cost of that GRI HP1 pump (ozone, airush, core, North, F-one, etc.) for $50 (retail approx $70).

Most of the main brands of pumps are now the same manufacturer. I heard that the Mystic importer will be distributing the WFMG brand?? That was before Christmas. KP has a few options the LF and Mystic ones are the longer higher capacity pumps but they really only suit taller folks IMO.

Good tips everyone cheers ! Guess I'll aim for the Mystic one. It's a shame they haven't caught up with version 2 of the WMFG pump with the looser tube though.
