I know it might seem early in the piece but are people planing a kiting trip to escape the winter duldrums, and if so where? The wife has given the green light for me to split for 10-14 days kiting. Would be interested to know if any crews are heading somewhere around the South Pac or similar. I did Fiji last year and didn't like it. If you're wondering why and can be bothered read this:

I've obviously read quite a bit on locations utilising this forum and others to pick a spot. Cook Islands sounds like it could well be one of the better ones.

I'm chasing 17+ knot winds and preferably flat water. Anyway, if there are some of you who are heading somewhere that sounds like this and are up for one more to kite with, drink beer and tell war stories at the end of the day let me know. Would be happy to hear from those that have also been somewhere recently and had an epic time/conditions etc. and would recommend it.

Cheers,

Fozzy

I had a great time in Tonga on Mounu Island. Check out www.boarderpatrol.com.au/ we got scunked on the wind but that happens to us everywhere including Hood River. But the days we did get out in the lagoon (3) was magic, mid range 12m 103kg didn't take a wind meter.

Also going to try out New Cal with the 2 for 1 deal they have going on over there right now at the l’Ilot Maitre / Coral Palms 2 people 11 nights $1700 p/p with flights transfers and breakfast. But don't think the deal lasts till winter.
