Valve traps are crapiola mate. Unless you use the thicker foam variety. Best thing to do is remove the valve, clean it and re-glue it properly.

Old ones that have been left in station wagons all summer...

Thommy...:-) called every single.shop in P before coming up..none had them..and most didnt even know what they were surprisingly except jason and sonya...then I bumped into Todd action sports at a slightly secret location..and bingo he told.me to cut out tear aid over it and it works a treat :-)
I cant believe u didnt tell me that before years ago scott turtle man u genius :-)
Anyway..noone in P had them and only the geniuses in shops knew what they were...

Never once seen glue work here in the heat&i think I personally tried it 53times much to turtle hunters annoyance...whereas v traps seem to have allways saved the day.west oz boardsports advice..

Valve traps are a treat.
Glue is a no go.
I thought Airtime were the only ones who made them and they were all the foam variety - has someone made similar with thinner foam?
Or have airtime started making inferia ones?

I think you needed a more budget conscious repair back then with your old Naish Tim. Mind you glueing tapeing or stick on valves or traps all work if done perfectly its just a matter of how perfect you need to be with each different method.

Hey mate, Tear aid can work as mentioned but not on all valves. some valves have ringed ridges on the and those wont work. basically the tear aid will only be mak8ng proper contact on those ridges. You can however run a bead of stormsure on top of the valve then place your tear aid patch over. this will work. Isee your in WA so I eont try and sprook my buisness to you unless its for a major repair (Cheap shipping prices) but feel free to email me if you want clearer advise.adamhochmuth84@gmail.com

I've used them a fair bit when they first came out when I did a lot of repairs at Kitepower, before I was sacked. If you manage to get them to stick flat with no wrinkles or air tracks, great. However if you don't you will be up for a new bladder, because you cannot get them off again. The white non see through foam is the problem, you just cannot see the bladder through the foam, so its super easy to get a wrinkle.
Someone experienced at using them could make them work most of the time, inexperienced people (most), usually get a wrinkle and then are very annoyed and disappointed when their repair leaks and they find they have to get a new bladder because the valve trap has ruined the bladder and leaks.

Storm sure glue works, so does clear polyurethane (Sikkaflax brand is good) and does stick to bladder material and valves, but takes about 8 hrs to cure, and if you screw up, you definitely need a new bladder.

Best to remove bladder and send to a repairer, like Adam, or Kitepower, Briskites, Moti, etc.

We do still send out kites for sewing repairs, but bladders and valves are our speciality.
