Not that I ride TT's much anymore but agree were not many there when I used to look. Last one I bought was from a shop brand new run out stock for a good price compared to what people ask for on their precious second handy. Also start of summer now so lots of newbies buying up. Also check facebook there are a few pages now selling kite gear.

Not sure the foilers are ready to give up their TT's just yet...

The good boards always seem to be in Perth, that's what kills me.

Those who foil usually go out on a sb and tt as well. Hence no reason to sell. Foils just add more options that's all.

The other reason is boards last longer than kites. And while this should be the same for kites, people tend to hang onto what works well for them. While they do this with boards, once they found a suitable one. The temptation to try and get a kite which makes them boost higher, loop harder, drift more, pump up faster, go faster, slack more rad, have an endless wind range, look better, and work in 5 knots, is too big I suppose

I agree. Second hand Tts are way over priced on here.

I've owned 2 Slingshot boards (2/3 years old) which I purchased used for $200 each (not on SB though). No used board should ever be above $400...

Just flogged a $150 Nobile board to one happy camper.

One less board now in ads.

Iv'e always sold my gear either via Seabreeze or Gumtree. Over 250 adds on Gumtree at the moment, and here is one example.

I believe the real reason is that many people are looking for the magic bullet to make them a better kiter and they feel that changing kites regularly will allow them to buy their way to proficiency. Most don't believe their board will have such a significant improvement.

Truth is, by demoing and taking on the advice of a knowledgeable shop crew to get the kite you are looking for, you are more likely to get the right kite, then spend the next year or two perfecting how to get the most out of that particular kite. Doing this will make you a much better kiter than someone constantly changing kites or buying without demoing.

Once you have a good board that does what you need, there really is no need to change it. We sell twice as many kites as we do boards. Perhaps this is why?
