I have seen and hear about people being abused on the water and carparks and in some cases assulted . Even a young west aussie local had a bit of a two kite tangle up the beach and some bloke from another country slashed all his lines off at kite on the beach including a bridal line WTF! We have miles of coast, millions of waves and cranking wind ,we don't need that s**t bought here from another state or country.

Pull your heads in!!

It all comes down to how safe you feel in such a situation and what confidence you have with the other kiter (which in a tangle is unknown) to do the right thing. Past experiences would lean towards both party's pulling the safety and swimming in as it is nigh n impossible to rectify the mess, especially when there are boards, lines and kites all over the place. However if you had lines wrapped around you and the other party hadn't popped their kite loose then its a no brainer, kites can easily power up and your soon in a life or death situation. if you feel at risk from somebody's else's inexperience of kite mares its the only option left.

i one know what it's like being rolled in the surf with my own lines everywhere let alone having to deal with another kite!

Context. . . . .

i have witnessed a few people being put in their place on on the water/beach the past year or so but they earned it by their own actions

from my experience most kiters won't have a go at someone for just being a pr!ck once or twice

in 12 + years of kiting Ive cut lines 3 or 4 times, 3 times to save other kiters from drowning and cut away from my 7 in big swells . Young fella aparently got all his lines cut off at the kite on the beach with someone who lost his cool by the sounds.
Now some 60 yr old SUP riders had to defend himself from someone on the beach, it's not good and there been an undercurrent of s##t going on for years.
We don,t need it around here or anywhere !

Name and shame I reckon... If this guy really cut his lines for no reason put his name and face out there and "Karma" will surely come his direction.
