Sounds like a fun event. Any know why it stops?

Tim put a lot into them and ran them for many years without making a dime. He did it for the love, unfortunately that's not always feasible forever. I think they were probably the best events Australia has ever had, some of my most fond memories are from those events (and winning a few although I think the earlier ones had the best vibe).

The last few Coconets were pretty big, with a music festival kind of tied into them, unfortunately I don't think that really worked out to well and may have been the reason they stopped happening. I can't say for sure, but that's what I've heard.

There were a few others, one in Bowen and another somewhere else I think. But was mainly in Tannum.

I used to live in Tannum and I'm pretty sure his company went broke.

I didn't want to say it in so many words, but I fear you're right.

Those comps were awesome, I never had a hope at placing but it was a great atmosphere with fun parties. I think I was there the year Rowdy won one actually (09?), I think there was only one more afterwards? My memory isn't exactly great. I do remember the dodgy looking winch pond with people flying everywhere, that was pretty entertaining.

I'm not sure what year it was either, maybe 09. Those winch pools were pretty crazy hahaha. Good vibes all-round, it would be great to have that kind of atmosphere at comps again, all the groms these days are missing out.
